Ratho Bush Camps

Ratho Bush Camps offer year-round camping by the Limpopo River and 4x4 driving in the Limpopo River sand, as well as day and night game drives.

The Tented Camp features five luxurious tents and can accommodate up to 20 guests in total. The tents are very spacious and each tent has a hot water shower. There is also a fully equipped kitchen with cutlery and crockery for up to 20 people. In addition, we have a furnished lapa with a bar, under the shade of a nyala-berry tree, where you can relax with friends or play board and card games. Outside the lapa there are four beds for the adventurous, and there is a playground for children and an open boma fireplace, under the stars, for braais and relaxing around the fire. An ideal relaxing bushveld atmosphere.

The Ratho River 4x4 camp offers basic facilities, just bring your own tent and set up camp in the river bed. A donkey-boiler for hot showers is available and there are is a flushing toilet and fireplace. This campsite is closed in the rainy season due to flooding. Ratho campsite is situated behind the Tented camp. Here you have electricity, with comfortable ablution facilities and warm water for showers. You also have your own private fireplace.

Breakfast, lunch and dinner are available for an additional fee, as well as crocodile meat marinade steaks. Wood and ice are available for sale and a housekeeper or cleaner can be arranged at an additional fee, if required.

Activities at Ratho Bush Camps include guided crocodile tours at Rakwena Crocodile Farm, fishing, elephant watching, a cable car when the river is full, close-up photography with tame animals, collecting semi-precious stones, wild flowers, and visits to Mapungubwe Reserve.
