Rocky Pool Guest Lodge

Rocky Pool Guest Lodge is situated on the Durban South Coast, with picturesque sea views and only 1 km from the nearest beach and shops. There are also two protected main beaches close by and the local shopping centres are within 1 to 3 km away. The new Arbor Crossing shopping centre is open, as well as the new Galleria centre, offering a variety of shops, movie entertainment, an ice-skating rink, ten-pin bowling, entertainment, and restaurants. Galleria is only 8 to 9 km away and the biggest shopping centre in the Southern Hemisphere.

The lodge boasts scenic views of the surrounding area and panoramic sea views of the Indian Ocean from the lounge, sun deck and main bedroom. The main room overlooks the crystal blue rock pool, surrounded by a tropical garden with lush vegetation. Spectacular bird life abounds, including peacocks, Yellow-billed kite hawks, guinea fowl and various other small birds, including the proverbial hadeda, so remember to bring your binoculars.

Guests also have use of the pool, trampoline and swings for the kids, as well as the entertainment area with music and a dart board. The pool is heated, not to make the pool hot but to take the chill off, especially in winter, enabling guests to swim just about all year round. We also offer airport transfers to and from the new King Shaka International Airport, at an additional fee.

"My husband and I felt so spoilt at Rocky Pool. We had a huge two bedroom flat all to ourselves, complete with T.V. hi-fi, DVD player and DSTV (for people to bring their own smart card).We had a deck, a bar, and open plan lounge and kitchen. The sofas were so soft I just sank right in! Our hosts, Nicky and Ron were delightful people, very friendly and accommodating.Unfortunately we could only stay for one night and it was raining so we were not brave enough to use the heated and very tempting pool.We will definitely return and bring the whole family!"

"We enjoyed the stay very much. The view was nice, monkeys came for a visit now and then but weren't pests, they just added to the charm. The air con was very greatly appreciated! The kitchen was stocked with the necessary tools to make our stay as close to home as possible. We were also happy to have chosen a place closely situated to many sights and attractions. Lots of hot water in the shower for 4 people to take showers and get going for a day out. The weather was a bit wet the first few days but we did not let that stop us and we went crock watching in the rain! Thanx to our hosts for being there but not making nuisances of themselves.All in all, a very nice memorable experience."
