"Book here as we could not get place in Kgalagadi But will definitely stay hete again as its perfect and great value for money Great restaurant - Best Lamb if had"
"We enjoyed our stay, the room was great, clean, warm and had all we needed. We found the food excellent, medium rare as it should be. Thanks for the good service."
"Its a most convenient place, however our stay was spoilt by not having anything but a trickle of water in the bathroom in the morning before we left. I reported to reception who said someone would be sent but an hour later when we left no one had come...."
"Cottage with beautiful view. Bed And bathroom super."
"accommodation good, close to twee rivieren gate."
"Once again this establishment lived up to its reputation. Very well situated with all amenities for self catering. Very clean and well worth recommending to other travellers"
"The Chalet was very clean and the space is enough for 2 Persons"
"Originally wanted 2 luxury rooms but Lodge could only give us 2 Business chalets. They are adequate for a nights stay before or after a visit to Kgalagadi. Wouldn't want to stay in them for more than one night. The room is open plan including the shower & basin (Loo is private). Room had 2 single beds, bedside tables, lamps etc. No extra blankets and when asked I was told they only had duvets. It was a very cold night but there is an aircon so at least you can warm up that way. Electric blankets or any blanket would be nice. There's a fridge & kettle in the room and they give you a pack of instant coffee, tea bags etc when you book in. There is a stoep (verandah) with 2 chairs & table and an area where you can prep food with a sink as well. Round the corner from the chalets is a braai areaWe ate at the restaurant that night and food was very good. The calamari is possibly the best I've tasted. My husband said the skaap stertjies (A Kalahari delicacy of lambs tails)are also very good. For ,Mains 3 of us opted for steaks which were also good as was the curry.Breakfast was adequate but not too keen on the sausage choice of russian or wors. The shop is well stocked with a choice of fresh veg & fruit, cheeses, butter etc as well as tinned goods, rice, mealie meal etc so if you've forgotten anything before entering the Park you can stock up there. There was also a freezer full of lamb & game meat. Ice & firewood tooAll in all a pleasant but cold stay. We would stay at the Lodge again but would definitely book the self catering chalets on top of the dune (which we went & looked at in the morning) instead of the business chalets at the bottom."
"We truly enjoyed our stay at Kgalagadi Lodge. The accommodation was wonderful, clean, beautiful and the service was excellent. Thank you to the manager and staff at Kgalagadi Lodge."
"The chalets are clean and neat, spacious, with a very nice kitchen area on the stoep. We enjoyed the beautiful views."
"It was just what we expected close to the park a good restaurant with friendly staff room was value for money of what we had only thing customers need to be made aware that only x number of day trippers can go in we were just very lucky that we got in 4 of our 5 days Thanks again all.."
"I had to cancel the reservation , even by email and reqested the funds paid to be credited or kept till future needs, I till date have not reserved a response or communication???Please adviceJohan"
"The hotel is conveniently located just a few km before the Tweerivieren entry, on a dune overlooking the road. Nice sunrise!Take care when arriving late: the reception and the restaurant close pretty early. Two downsides: the hotel is rather new (which is OK for the rooms) and has a restaurant without ambiance. Which leads to the second point: loud music... in such a tranquile setting! Pity."
"We spent 2 nights here recently as we could not get accommodation in the Kgalagadi Park. We found the staff to be very friendly & efficient & we were most fortunte to be upgraded to a lovely 2 bedroomed unit on the hill. The view from these cottages is lovely & is very peaceful rural scene. The cottages are very well stocked for self catering & we even found a lovely coffee machine available, some olive oil & salt & pepper, The little shop is very well stocked with lovely fresh bread, groceries, some fresh fruit & veg.We ate at the restaurant one evening. The menu is very simple & my husband enjoyed his chicken schnitzel. However I ordered pizza & the dough was so tough I could not eat it. Most disappointing & still charged for it.I would recommend a stay here to anyone looking for clean, comfortable accommodation.Wifi is available at the shop."
"loved the room dcor ,especially use of natural materials such as wood. Unfortunately l think they skimped on quality mattresses and ours was subsiding with a hole in the middle!!!"
"Very friendly staff. Our unit was equipped with all the necessary amenities. The location was excellent."
"View wonderfulUnit [luxury] fantastic"
"Cosy and comfortness"
"Clean, neat rooms with braai facilities and the most important TV channels (including sport). Restaurant with affordable menu on site for those too tired to use the braai."
"I only have high praise for Kgalagadi Lodge, we spent one night there after travelling from Cape Town to the Kgalagadi Transfrontier Park. Friendly staff, lovely swimming pool, comfortable chalet and thevresieent emus and goats were so cute. BUT oh man their food us absolutely fantastic. From the venison salad to the skaap stertjies to the steak...beautifully presented and tasty. Well done guys!"
"Baie netjies mooi en alles wat jy nodig het vir lekker bly!"
"e had a very pleasant stay. Good alternative to staying inside the park"
"The rooms were very nice decorated and the bathrooms worked: hot water in the shower within seconds. Not so good the restaurant: too long waiting times for the food, even it was selected hours before."
"Nice, secure and clean place. Close to gate to Kgalagadi Transfortier Park.We recommend this place."
"Very comfortable and well equipped unit. Very interesting brackets and light fittings and lovely setting. Must compliment the staff for honesty after leaving my cell charger behind and was able to pick it up 3 days later."
"Unit #1 was great after a difficult drive from Mata Mata. Clean and well appointed.Service at dinner was a bit slow, but tasty fare."
"We loved every inch of the chalets and everything was in place and as clean as you can get it. We were very impressed and will for sure recommend Kgalagadi Lodge as your overnite dstination, will even go as far to say rather stay here as compared to Nossob Rooms , say no more."
"A Great stop nearby the Kgalagadi Transfrontier Park ! You have a good restaurant and a good store just in front of the park !"
"Convenient location; simple but satisfactory lodgings; well stocked and reasonably priced shop and restaurant; a good alternative if you plan day visit to the Park or if you plan to arrive late at night. Glad to see that there is an reasonably priced alternative."
"Everything just right"
"Friendliness of staff and the location"
"Nice clean and friendly service. The only problem was that they did not expect us. They didn't know of our booking. Communication between Safari and them should be a lot better in future."
"It was impossible to get to our cottage by car. We got stuck in the sand. On our way back from Kgalagadi same thing happened. Please warn visitors when they make a booking on the knee deep sand you have to enter on reaching your cottage. (sedan car) Manager was helpful but could not convince us to stay another night. Full refund was given."
"The Lodge is a pleasure to stay in. The Staff is very friendly and helpful. The admin side could improve a bit. I send various emails that never got answered and even send sms's that were not answered."
"Everything was really good!"
"Great rooms, fantastic service"
"Kgalagadi Lodge is the perfect bush getaway. Its position is perfect. The unit is clean and maintained daily. It is a home away from home and it spoils you with all the comforts one can think of. I would highly recommend this Lodge to everybody. Thank you for an awesome stay. We will definitely be back!"
"fACILITIES AND VIEW as well as peace were impressive and the distance to Twee Rivieren very convenient"
"The rooms were most user friendly. The were clean and well appointed from the point of view that they had what a guest staying for a night needs all is clean and functioning. Very pleasant staff too."
"TV - Kyknet. Love the pots and pans"
"reception staff exceptional.accommodation just what we needed after a long drive.feels like you are in the kalahari."
"We booked in on the 19th of Feb 2017 (3 chalets). Our stay was very unpleasant. There was a power outage which meant that the units were without power. Although the main building had a back-up supply, the chalets were without power for the duration of our stay. No attempt was made to refund our money or make our stay any more comfortable. Management appeared to run away from the problem."
"Sadly, we only spent one night here. Next time it will be longer, as it makes a perfect jump-off point to the Kgalagadi.<br/>These units have been carefully thought out, with every attention given to detail. <br/>The staff are fabulous & friendly & the food is excellent @ the Restaurant, next to the great pool area.<br/>We thoroughly enjoyed our stay!<br/>Many thanks<br/>Colleen & Howard Kerr<br/>Cape Town<br/>"
"Lovely family units with everything you need for a comfortable stay. The views are spectacular and the food at the restaurant is a very good alternative if you don't feel like self catering."
"We have stayed at Kgalagadi Lodge a couple of times and always find the same thing - lovely comfortable chalets, well equipped and spotlessly clean. The restaurant serves good food and the shop is amazingly well stocked. The staff are welcoming and will go out of their way to meet any request."
"second stay again: very good organized, very nice cottages, very friendly staff"
"very good organized, very nice cottages, very friendly staff"
"Enjoyed camping on our way to Namibia - loved the private ablutions at the campsite."
"We get exactly what we expected and more during our over night stay. I highly recommend this facility even as a substitute for Twee Rivieren.<div><br /></div><div><br /></div>"
"Ons het dit baie geniet en lekker gebly. Die tarief was ook aanvaarbaar gewees. Die eenheid was ook baie netjies en skoon gewees."
"Stayed here on 20 June 2016, just after visiting Kgalagadi Nature reserve, very neat, well maintained and quaint!<div><br /></div><div>Would much rather have stayed here than inside the park, very well priced. Beautiful restaurant and enjoyed the fresh bread from the shop!</div><div><br /></div><div>Thank you for being the perfect end to my holiday!</div>"
"Great stay. Accomadation very clean and restuarant excellent."
"Perfect location and wonderful accommodation. The units have everything you need - Luxurious, beautifully decorated, beds are comfortable, kitchen fully equipped. Their friendly staff give unbeatable service and the food is delicious. We will go back again and again!<br />"
"Very well run and very friendly management. <br />"
"Provided good night's rest ...but i would have liked to have been informed that a "standard" chalet means the kitchen is outside on the stoep...would possibly have upgraded to a different one. Photo does not show this ( see photo on review request)"
"An excellent choice if you want to lengthen your stay in the park by making day visits (only really worth it if you have a Wild Card). We really enjoyed our stay. The shop is stocked with everything you could possibly need in the park, the view fromthe chalets is peaceful, and particularly our 2nd stay, when we were upgraded to a Luxury chalet was great. Not that I didn't rather enjoy my outside kitchen in the standard chalet. The management and staff very friendly and welcoming."
"Pleasant, nice and modern with good service and good food.<br /><br />J. Ramm<br />"
"This Lodge is wonderfully placed and equipped. Ideal for the park. We thought it was excellent"

"We spent one night at Kgalagadi lodge before entering in the Kgalagadi Transfontier Park. The chalet was comfortable and clean. There's also a good and cheap restaurant and a small shop. It's perfect as stop before the park."
"<p>We thoroughly enjoyed our stay at Kgalagadi Lodge. The accommodation is of an excellent standard, much better than Twee Rivieren camp actually, the staff and Management are very welcoming, friendly and helpful<br></br></p><p>I would highly recommend this lodge to any traveller and will certainly stay there again on my next trip to Kgalagadi Transfrontier Park.</p>"
Mooi so!"
"We can without hesitation recommend the Kgalagadi Lodge. Not only is it very neat, clean and comfortable, it also has a convenient shop and restaurant. The staff is most helpful and the lodge is only 5km away from the entrance to the Kgalagadi NP."
"Van aankoms tot vertrek: alles na wense! Mense is vriendelik &en behulpsaam. Wooneenheid is skoon, netjies, modern en toegerus met die nodige. Restaurant se kos is heerlik! Sal enige tyd beslis weer akkommodasie daar boek!<div>Baie dankie!</div>"
"Great Lodge, great stay. Food were great.Bought good fire wood to take with to Kgalagali park. Shop were well stocked and prices were reasonable. Will stay there again and again."
"Great setting and very comfortable. Only problem is that the kitchen is outside and so everything was very sandy and the induction hob wouldn't work because the pots provided weren't suitable. Otherwise we can highly recommend it."
"We stayed at Kgalagadi Lodge in June on our way to the Transfrontier Park. Friendly staff and neat, clean private ablution facilities made sure we will return here somewhere in the future! The freshly baked bread is a winner!"
"Excellent service and value for money. Was impressed by the variety of fresh produce and other supplies in the shop at reception. Lovely restaurant with an awesome atmosphere. The staff went out of their way to keep us satisfied. Every request was acted upon with sincere friendliness. Our stay at Kgalagadi Lodge exceeded our expectations, I would highly recommend to anyone looking for accommodation close to the Kgalagadi Transfrontier Park."
"Staff very friendly and effective.Accommodation super clean and comfortable."
"This was a very clean, comfortable apartmentwith a luxurious kitchen. Nice view.Very good shop with fresh bread, meat, vegetables and fruit."
"Highly recommended. We appreciated the extra effort to accommodate us - moved to a room with a double bed. The rooms are comfortable and stylish and the staff friendly and helpful. We will return and definitely make Kgalagadi-Lodge our first stop before visiting the Kgalagadi Transfrontier National Park."
"Comfortable with aircon, TV and all mod cons that WORK! The staff are welcoming and the breakfasts we had there were delicious. The pool is divine and not crowded and the shop has all the basics including wonderful meat packs, fresh bread and vegetables and fruit etc. We will be using this instead of going up the road as this is far superior and cheaper. thanks to Denise and staff."
"Very convenient overnight stop before entering the Park. Chalets clean. Gorgeous view over the dunes. Shop facility and pool very handy to have on site. Utensils could be standardised and improved. Would be nice to have more shade for vehicles and we got stuck with our car and trailer in the thick sand."
"Great camping experience."
"Personnel in the shop/reception area were outstanding & really helpful. Because the building of the facility is not complete a great amount of dust settles on the stoep. We had a cold shower in the evening and no electricity the next morning."
"Really enjoyed our stay."
"Fantastic experience. Very close to the Park. Modern, comfortable, practical. Will recommend anytime."
"Excellent accommodation and amenities. Highly recommended for people wanting to visit the Kgalagadi Nature reserve. Will return."
