"Breakfast is very light indeed, can it include English breakfast to the least.<br/><br/>Establishments response:<br/><br/>Thank you for your review. Breakfast is for free. We would consider doing English in future and charging for it.<br/>"
"a very nice room with antique stylish furniture. spacious bathroom as well. cathy was extremely helpful, as i was travelling without a smart phone and often needed Transport. so she help me organising that and took good care of me during my stay."
"I loved the fact that you have privacy, the room was comfortable and satisfied my needs. I loved my stay in general, however the dogs are scary and that's the downside for me.And the breakfast could do with an improvement and yard needs maintenance."
"So serene. So secure"
"The tiredness of room. If you can supplement that with TV in the room, will be perfect."
"I found Auckland Park Manor to be a comfortable and pleasant guest house. The staff were friendly, and the rooms were clean and neatly kept. I particularly enjoyed the ambiance of the place - there is a mix of old word charm and quirky eclecticism that makes the place a delight. I thought that the rates were excellent value for money, given the proximity to UJ, WITS and the SABC. I would happily recommend Auckland Park Manor to any travellers."
"Wonderful people but being attacked by one of the dogs made for uncomfortable stay."
"Three of us drove from KZN to attend a conference on Early Childhood Intervention in Soweto for 2 days. Cathy was so helpfulin assisting us to find ourwayto the B&B and to and from Soweto. Barbara was very pleasant and we really enjoyed our stay and will go back there next time."
"I thoroughly enjoyed my stay. The room and bathroom were big and had everything I needed. Staff were friendly and efficient. Great value for money, would definitely stay there again.<br />"
"Was a great time. Very beautiful and staff are so friendly. Great looking rooms in a scenic environment. H<span style="line-height: 1.5;">ighly recommend.</span>"
"I enjoyed staying at the Auckland Park Manor although it was for a very short time."
"I enjoyed my stay at the Auckland Park Manor. The service was great and everyone was really helpful. I would stay there again."
"The service was terrible. We travelled late from our destination because he had to leave after work. Cathy had a problem with us arriving late because they normally close at 19h00. When we arraved at 10h15 in the evenning she was so route to us telling us not to press the intercom twice as we are weaking everyone up. In the morning their dogs were outside our room and almost attacked us. Breakfast was not nice, guests make their own breakfast. They don't even ask what you would like to have. The toaster was not working. They made us boiled eggs which we did not prefer. The table was not set up properly, there was no tea spoons and forks on the table. They lady that showed us where we are going to have our breakfst was still on her PJ's.This was my first and last visit to this guest house.<br></br><b>Establishment's response</b><br></br><i>On our page we ask if the guests would please let us know if they will be arriving after 7 pm. Due to the fact that guesthouse owners have been attacked. <br></br>They arrived and instead of considering other guest they rang the bell insistently 4 times. Waking up everyone.Breakfast as stated is cereals, toast, yogurt, fruit, tea coffee and juice. The eGgs we gave them as an extra. (No charge) The table is set and guests hElp themselves. <br></br>The toaster is working and was used by the other guests on the day. The dogs are not vicious in fact they bark to welcome and love the interaction from our guest. Of which we have on going business with.<br></br>The housekeepers wear ski pAnts and T-shirts when cleaning they are NOT pjs. We apologise for any unnecessary inconveniences however we have our regular guests to consider as well.<br></br>Regards Auckland park manor</i>"
"Loved the room and the whole experience. I will definitely return to a prolonged stay in the near future. I advise that there be better visibility of the establishment to make it easier to find. THANK YOU!"
"We first passed the guest house because there was no visible sign. The street name is written on the pavement rather than street poles and the main entrance to the guest house was rather vague. Otherwise, Barbra, a lovely lady and friendly too, welcomed us with a smile even though she wasn’t sure of our reservations. The house looks lovely. Once you get in the yard and look at the roof top, you’ll realise that it’s a vintage house build around the 1960s. As you go further on a stint tour with Barbra, especially in the dining and kitchen areas, you’re once again re-introduced to that olden South African furniture (warm and lots of authentic wood), blended nicely with a double volume structure erected in 2010, but still managed to capture the classic ambiance. Overall – a ‘cool’ place."
"Very comfortable and usefully close to Wits. Reasonably priced, good value. Many thanks."
"Good value for money. Cement floors cold in winter!"
"My sons said it was pleasant and that Cathy was very friendly and nice."
"Thanks for the perfect stay, everything I needed and wanted was there. Barbara gave me the most friendly welcome. I enjoyed the no-fuss experience. What I did not expect was the most beautiful garden; what a fragrant and colourful surprise. The roses were exquisite!"
"A quiet, fantastic and accessible place for researchers wishing to commute to down town Johannesburg, UJ and Wits among others yet enjoy privacy. The owners and staff are excellent and friendly! Keep going!"
"Very affordable, luxurious accommodation. The rooms are private and well kept with all the luxuries of a 3 star hotel. I will definitely recommend this guest house!!!"
