  • "A poor experience"

    24 October 2013

"I booked Room 9 on-line and was given Room 2 which was small and dark.Total lack of service. My TV set did not work ... the picture was compressed and rolling. Went to reception to seek help, nobody in sight but slipped on the wet concrete resulting in a huge haematoma on my thigh. Look at placing non-stick strips on exposed concrete veranda.Basin water brown to start with. A large worm visible in the toilet bowl after flushing. Conference guests were told not to drink the water. What about others? I don't know if this caused extreme nausea early in the morning!Getting in and out of the gate a battle on arriving and leaving.Parking a problem when conference on.<br></br><b>Establishment's response</b><br></br><i>I would like to highlight that the guest was checked into our guesthouse during the heavy rains weexperienced for 3 days consecutively last week.<br></br> There is absolutely nothing wrong with drinking water from the taps. We also provide Oasis / mineral water as many guests prefer that, this is offered in our conference / dining area wheredelegates / guests are welcome to help themselves.<br></br> The basin water can be brown but only in the event of heavy rains like we experienced last week as we are on borehole system.<br></br> DSTV signal, as we are all aware is not stable in heavy rains and the decoders then autoscan to find signal again.<br></br> Each guest is furnished with a remote control for opening and closing the main entrance gate.<br></br> We facilitate many conferences at our facility, we apologise that the parking was of an inconvenience for the guest on departure.<br></br> Thank you for the review, we value your feedback and will endeavour to continuously upheld our service, facilities and hospitality.<br></br> Yours truly,<br></br> Cindy Freed</i>"

  • "Plumpudding Guesthouse"

    16 December 2010

"Plumpudding Guesthouse is well situated on Johannesburg University's doorstep which was just what we needed. The security is very good, and their service is very friendly, quiet and unobtrusive and very very good. Excellent food was produced by the kitchen, including lunch and dinner. Plumpudding is a three star graded guesthouse and deserves every one of those stars and probably a fourth one."

  • "An enjoyable stay"

    06 July 2007

"I had a very pleasant stay - staff and owners were very friendly and warm. Good that it's possible also to have food at lunch/in the evening which is an unusual service for a Bed and Breakfast. If I'd been there at the beginning of my stay, it would have been good to have more info about Joburg/leaflets. etc. but apart from that, everything was good. "

"I'm truly blown away by Plumpudding B&B. I booked it for my mom and sister, both of them were very pleased with the service they received from everyone at Plumpudding especially the young man that's in charge of the place. According to my mom, he was exceptionally good and extremely helpful. Next time im bringing the whole family, just for the experience.. thank you so much..."

Everyone at Plumpudding went out of their way to make me, and then my husband when he joined me, comfortable and well looked after. We rate this place 5 star++!"
