Summerhill Inn is a 16 bedroom, 2 Star Graded Country Inn situated just outside historic Bathurst and nestled amongst pineapple plantations. It is home of the Big Pineapple. The Packshed Restaurant offers an a la carte menu and is open for breakfast, lunch and dinner. Our Porcupine Pub is famous for its Pineapple Cocktails and it is open seven days a week.
"Overpriced for a 1 star stay. The staff need training and motivation."
"We had an absolutely fantastic time, with great service and the best food! Recommend to anyone to stay there. Facilities not modern, but adequate."
"I was disappointed in Summerhill Inn and found the amenities in the rooms lacking. It may be two-star, but that's no excuse for cigarette burn holes in the linen or the intense odour of Doom hanging in the air. The first room we were booked into had no spare blankets in the middle of winter (with temperatures at night hovering near zero) and smelt incredibly strongly of insecticide. The remains of a spider nest was visible and the room was generally dank and damp. The second room was a touch better and certainly better appointed, but still didn't feel that well looked after. The bathroom was clean but the shower door kept coming off its rails and there were cigarette burns in the linen. Still, the staff were friendly and helpful enough (although I didn't appreciate the smell of cigarette smoke in the reception area) and the farm itself is beautiful. Had I paid a few hundred less for the night it would have been okay. But for the R700 I paid for the night, I feel ripped off."
"Good location but big improvements need to be made to realise Summerhill Farm's potential."
