  "After a day's drive through Baviaans, our self catering room was a delight. Everything we needed. Outdoors, lovely decks to Braai or picnic, or just to enjoy the views.Also a couple of trails to follow. The staff were friendly and helpful."

  "Well maintained lodge. The family cottage is well equiped with all necesities. Quaint bathrooms in rustic style. No separate bedrooms. All in one open-plan room with kitchen. Rock pool with "bar" absolutely beautiful - would like to visit again in summer! Very friendly and helpfull staff. Bring own wood though as small bag is sold for R30."

  "We spent 1 night at Duiwelkoof last week in the Honeymoon Cave. Despite a heat wave in the Baviaanskloof and surrounding area, our stay was very comfortable indeed. The attention to detail was impressive. If you want privacy and tranquillity with all the comforts at hand within a breathtaking natural environment, this is the place for you."

  "We enjoyed the area and the facilities very much, they are first class and worth a return visit. However there are some points which you may want to consider. 1. On the first night there was no hot water in the showers. Not good with four small children and us on a cold winters night. They were apparantly working on the pipes. 2. We came here to get peace and quiet. But there was a generator running for most of the time and a bulldozer some of the time. Really destroyed the tranquility we were looking for. The staff did turn the generator off after we complained but the next day it was running again, even after 18h00. I sugest you do not take bookings if you are doing building renovations. The noise was not nice at all. 3. In winter I suggest you have drop down blinds in the lapa area to keep out the very cold evening wind from the north. It really does swirl around this (very nice) area making it very unpleasent. 4. The ropes on the walk to the west have got very hard in the sun and wind and the fibres prick your hands and even embed in your skin, like prickly pears! Suggest you change them. I hope you find these points useful. Apart from this we enjoyed our time there but maybe better in the summer. Our compliments to the staff - they were very cheerful and helpful."

  "The cottage was very small and attached to the lodge - we would have preferred a cottage. But the staff were friendly, the cottage was clean and the water hot. It was quite far off the road so don't attempt it in the dark!"

  "Thank you for a lovely stay in Bateleur room in Duiwekloof.We arrived early on Saturday as we had misjudged the distance from the previous stay-over... and in spite of that we were welcomed and made comfortable. We did a spectacular walk to the "Orrel grot" and the pool beyond the campsite. Magnificent country!"

  "The place is beautiful and immaculate. The staff were friendly and the facilities in the absence of electricity were very comfortable. The walks were equally well marked and spectacular. It is the prefect stop over for 4 x 4 visitors travelling through Baviaans from the east and returning the next day. Entrance from the west is easy for all travellers who enjoy the outdoors."
