"Unfortunately it is not the ideal sleepover place for tired travellers with 8hours on the road behind them. We left at 3 the morning after giving up on trying to sleep with all the trucks passing and stopping at the robot right next to the hotel."

  • "Relaxing Stop"

    30 December 2016

"My girlfriend and I stayed the night at 94 on Donkin on our way from KZN to Cape Town. The old building is very beautiful and we enjoyed our short stay. The staff were very friendly and told us about places we could go for a bite to eat that evening. In the morning we enjoyed some coffee on the wrap-around balcony overlooking the main street and the beautiful old churches. We then went downstairs and ate a delicious breakfast during which we were served by the owner of the establishment who was very courteous and helpful. He shared some of the history of the establishment with us and we left full and happy. I'd recommend 94 on Donkin as a good place to stop when travelling through Beaufort West."

  • "Very disappointed"

"Building is old and unkept. Photos on website are very misleading. room dirty and dusty. Very noisy with passing traffic all night. NOT a good stop over place if u want to get a good rest before a long day of driving."

  • "Great Value for Money!"

    18 June 2015

"We arrived late on Friday evening from Cape Town and our host received us with a warm welcome. The rooms were beautiful, very spacious and very clean. We left again early the next morning, but we had everything we needed for the night. Great value for money! I would definitely recommend The 94 on Donkin for any length of stay. Thanks for an awesome stay."

  • "Overnight stay"

    15 June 2015

"Bedroom was nice. Would have been nice have more tv channels than just the normal sabc 1,2,3 and etv. We were not told about onsite restaurant and looked like the bar facilities were not available neither. Had to go to local spur. Make sure you have everything in your room before you go to bed as the alarm is switched on and you cannot leave your room. We wanted to leave early and had to arrange for alarm to be switched off and gate opened for us. In general we enjoyed our overnight stay."

  • "Nice, friendly stay"

    26 January 2015

"I stayed over at 94 on Donkin in January 2015. The host was excellent and very welcoming. The room was clean and had everything I needed. The breakfast was great. There was a bit of traffic noise from the main road but not too loud to have disturbed my sleep."

  • "A fallen aristocrat on the mend - Oasis on the N2"

    18 January 2015

"From what I gathered after a generous breakfast, The 94 recently changed hands and Bernard has taken it on himself to restore some of the faded and lost elegance to the beautiful place. It is an unenviable task as there is lots to do. A gorgeous sweeping staircase, lofty dining room and grand faade and veranda hint at a glorious past while the creaky plumbing, fizzy electrics and musty air conditioners hint at present problems. I caught sight of boxes of tiles and bathroom suites ready for installation in a disused hallway so I'm guessing it won't be long before the place is right up to scratch - secretly hoping that the shabby charm of the place won't be lost. A barefoot concierge is not something I would have expected but despite the casual attire she was extremely helpful and practical helping us sort out extra beds as our party had grown unexpectedly. The rooms were spacious, clean and airy - thankfully not right on the N2 and not too noisy. The whole place smacks of the colonial charm that Beaufort West has oodles of. Definitely worth another visit."
