Greatbatch Guesthouse

In the Northern Cape we say "follow the sun, not the crowds."

Greatbatch is named after the legendary architect of the turn of the previous century, Daniel Westwood Greatbatch; this house was designed by him as his residence.
DW Greatbatch was responsible for the design of several outstanding buildings such as the Sanatorium, Theatre Royal, 3rd building Kimberley Club, Dunluce, Synagogue etc.

Situated on the Belgravia historic route we are close to shops, restaurants, pubs and museums.

Graded as a 3 star by TGCSA and is a member of the Guesthouse Association of SA.

Three Guesthouse rooms are also named after architects of the 1900s. Rooms are air-conditioned, fitted with a kettle and coffee and tea is available.

Rogers room is a luxury en-suite with a Queen size bed and overlooks the pool and lapa area. It is equipped with a colour DSTV and bar fridge.

Timlin room has two beds and outside door to garden. It is equipped with a colour DSTV and its bathroom is opposite the room.

Stent room is a luxury en-suite and overlooks the pool and lapa area. Equipped with an old Kimberley time brass and copper bed and colour DSTV.

Stand alone flats have ceiling fans. They are each equipped with a bar fridge, microwave oven and colour DSTV. They are named Topaz luxury en-suite and Emerald 1 & 2 sharing a bathroom and toilet (ideal family flat).

Our dormitory is divided in two parts to cater for ladies and gents separately. It can sleep 20 people in total and has an ablution facility with two showers and two toilets. The theme of the dormitory is Diggers den and takes you back in time with the old notices and other items out of the Mining industry of yester year.

Our large garden has plenty of space for you to soak up some rays near our swimming pool. Our lapa has a built in braai and bench tables to just sit and chat or enjoy cold beers under. A great bauma where you can enjoy the early (or late) evening.
