Lavender Cottage

Lavender Cottage is a self-catering house nestled in the idyllic suburb of Birdswood in Richards Bay. Situated in the secure Marabou complex, it is the perfect place to get some rest and relaxation.

It consists of two bedrooms, a bathroom, an open-plan living area and a fully equipped kitchen with a separate wash-up area, which leads out onto a courtyard with a washing line. The living area has a TV with DStv and it leads out onto a veranda and a small enclosed garden. Guests are advised to bring their own decoder and smart card for the DStv. There is a single lock-up garage as well as a swimming pool on the premises, and both the complex and the cottage have armed response.

Richards Bay is a coastal town that offers many attractions to guests. Alkantstrand is a great place to just relax on the beach or go surfing. There is also the St. Lucia Nature Reserve to visit, with all its wildlife.

"Overall the stay was pleasant. However the mattresses in the main bedroom are definitely not suitable because they are rock hard and extremely uncomfortable. The pillows are also not satisfactory. They are very flat. The ceiling fan in the main bedroom also needs to be replaced because it makes a noise when trying to sleep. There was also no coffee and tea in the cottage which I believe is mandatory in any establishment."
