"The home has a view of the sea when you walk to the edge of the property- the dune is rather high up, with steps from the neighbours property to get down to the beach. It is not a "swimming" or blue flag beach, but it makes for good quiet and lonely strolls. There were a lot of shark egg shells on the beach during our visit, as well as a number of dead seagulls...not sure why. There are no shops comfortably close to the cottage- closest amenities (and not extensive or impressive) are in Kenton-on-sea and then further to Port-Alfred. The owners were very friendly and assisted us in making sure we did not forget anything on our way out. The home is furnished with antique style furniture, but the layout is very comfortable. The area is very quiet, and makes for an easy afternoon drive- would not recommend extended periods of stay unless you are looking for isolation."
