Arendsnes Cottages

Arendsnes is our working wine and dairy farm. The farm has two cottages overlooking the vineyards along the banks of the Breede River. Guests can take walks, fish in the river or just enjoy the view from the sun deck.

Arendsnes offers two self-catering cottages in a superb setting. Both are completely private and have their own style and charm with views to the magnificent Langeberg Mountains as backdrop. Both cottages are fully equipped, with a TV, a microwave, a kitchen and a lounge area each. Guests also have access to the swimming pool. A rowing boat is available for fishing on the river, while the sunset can be enjoyed from a lovely deck.

Arendsnes lies just a few kilometres outside Bonnievale, en route to Montagu within the beautiful wine districts of Montagu and Robertson. The area has a range of places to explore including a large cheese factory, a Khoi fish farm, wine estates and local cellars.

"Our weekend at Arendsnes was a disaster. We found the cottage was in need of a lot of maintenance and not properly cleaned. My wife had to wash everything in the kitchen we wanted to use. There is also a lot of flies around compelling you to keep the screen door and windows shut at all times.<div>I am sorry for this bad review Arendsnes, but the standard was very low.</div>"

"<p>We thoroughly enjoyed our stay in Arendsnes 2, which is in a beautiful spot near the river, with nothing but the sound of birds to disturb your peace.</p><p>The cottage itself is very well equipped with everything you need for a relaxing holiday and we found it very accommodating.</p><p>Jemine's garden is also a treat not to be missed - a real oasis on a hot day.</p><p>I would certainly recommend it and hope to visit again one day.</p>"

"We really enjoyed our stay at Arendsnes and had a great time at the Wine on River Festival. This was a beautiful spot - awesome view and out of the way from other places so we never felt like we were disturbing anyone. The accommodation was basic, but it was all we needed for a short stay. The house can sleep a lot of people which was perfect for us. The only real negative was the Peacocks. Although beautiful to look at, they are very noisy and not pleasant to hear outside your window at the crack of dawn. They also pecked at one of our cars and left scratch marks. But all in all, we had a fantastic weekend.."
