Weltevrede Cottages

Weltevrede Cottages are situated on Weltevrede Wine Estate in the heart of the Breede River Valley, close to Route 62 and only two hours' drive from Cape Town.

We offer three cottages, each fully-equipped for self-catering. Linen and towels are provided as well as coffee, tea, freshly baked rusks, and a bottle of Weltevrede wine and grape juice.

Recreational activities on the estate include picturesque hiking trails, while fishing and swimming can be enjoyed on the Breede River. If youd like to, you could even bring your own bicycle or canoe, and bird watchers will enjoy the large variety of water birds in the area.

We'd also be happy to assist in booking for golf, bowls, squash or tennis, which can be enjoyed some 4 km from the estate.

    17 June 2018

"It was the perfect breakaway weekend, we had a lovely rest and loved the stunning view. The Belvedere cottage was nice and clean and the kitchen was well equipped with the smallest details (like salt and pepper). The fireplace was fantastic to keep us warm as well."

  • "A perfect romantic getaway"

    06 February 2017

""Ons Huisie" on Weltevrede wine estate is the cutest cottage for two. Situated in the middle of the vineyards, the views of the surrounding mountains are stunning.<br/><br/>The cottage is furnished with antiques and has the basics that one would need for self-catering.<br/><br/>Only one negative - the main road between Bonnievale and Robertson runs just behind the cottage. However, if you keep the windows on that side closed, you are hardly aware of the traffic.<br/>"

  • "A pleasant experience"

    05 February 2014

"Weltevrede Cottage (Ons Huisie) is very homely and comfortable. We had a pleasant and memorable stay. The cottage is very well equipped and the reception portrayed country style hospitality and professionalism. The thoughtfulness of the management is proved; even in putting out some fire lighters with the bag of fire wood that was ordered.Staying at Ons Huisie gives you an opportunity to experience the atmosphere of the area."

  • "Cosy Vineyard Cottage"

    15 January 2014

"The Ons Huisie at Weltevrede Cottages is a charming, romantic little getaway for two. Nicely renovated with quarry tile floors and authentic antique furniture, it is cosy in the evenings and cool in the daytimes. The kitchen had all that we needed (including a toaster). We did hear some traffic noise, but still slept well in the comfortable bed."
