  "We enjoyed a comfortable long weekend in the pristine Staandakkie Cottage. A very peaceful farm where one can relax and enjoy long walks between grain fields. In August the yellow canola and green wheat and barley make stunning photos! As bird-lovers we enjoyed seeing over 800 flamingoes on a nearby vlei and hundreds of Blue Cranes in the fields, at dusk. Louis and Vicki are friendly and welcoming."

  "We loved Staandakkie - the cottage is beautifully decorated and has everything you need, and more! The peace and tranquility is exactly what we needed and our hostess Vicki was the best! The only problem we had was that the directions from Safarinow could have been more specific and at one point we thought we might be on the wrong gravel road. However, a quick call to Vicki sorted us out. What a lovely welcome, with farm rusks, milk and a complimentary bottle of wine waiting for us! We'll definitely recommend Staandakkie to our friends and family."

  "We thoroughly enjoyed our two night stay at this cosy cottage. The hostess, Vicki, welcomed us warmly and we were further greeted with an unexpected and greatly appreciated complimentary bottle of red wine, home made rusks, soap, farm milk in the fridge. The cottage was clean and very neat, and the decor was tasteful with so many little touches, including Vicki's paintings on the wall. We lacked nothing to make our stay very comfortable. The farm is beautiful with panoramic views through 360 degrees. Oh yes - Zack, the border collie, ensured we were never lonely."

  "We spent 2 nights at Staandakkie Cottage while in Bredasdorp for a wedding and had a fantastic stay. Thank you to our hostess, Vicki, for the personal touches and extra trouble to make our visit so special. The cottage decor and setting all allow for relaxation away from home. We saw plenty of bird life on the drive to and from the cottage, but unfortunately did not explore the farm on foot during our stay - will have to do it next time!"

  "We stayed there while doing 'voet van africa'. From the moment you walk into Staandakkie you are overwhelmed by a sense of whimsy! This cosy little place outside Bredasdorp is the ideal place when peace and quiet is what you want. To me this cosy room and the bathroom felt like a real life doll house! Vicky, our host, immediately makes one feel right at home! We came to Staandakkie for a place to sleep before and after the race, but left feeling refreshed. The pictures on the website does not do Staandakkie justice. Its magical. And oh! The milk and rusks Vicky leaves in the fridge is awesome! Loved it."

  "Staandakkie is a lovely little house on the farm of Louis and Vicky, 12 km from Bredasdorp. It is possible to cook in the cottage but we left the kitchenette to warming water for coffee; we ate out. The standard and value for money is great. There is a good braai on the terrace. The owners are friendly. It is a great from which to visit De Hoop Nature Reserve and the coast. We recommend Staandakkie if you enjoy solitude and peace."

  "My husband and I had a wonderful weekend at Staandakkie. It is the perfect location if you are taking part in the Voet of Afrika marathon in Bredarsdorp, and super convenient if you want to visit Struisbaai, Agulhas, Arniston and other seaside towns. Vicki and Louis are wonderful hosts and we would definitely visit again."
