RiverDeck Country Accommodation

RiverDeck Country Accommodation is where old world country meets exclusivity. We are located at the centre of the world famous Garden Route, on the Buffalo Bay Road.

Origionally the chapel was the old Goukamma Post Office and the reception and conference facilities were the old school. The farmstead is now transformed into accommodation. Here is where tradition meets modernity. We are close enough for comfort and class, but far enough for peace and quiet.

  • "Very accommodating"

    15 April 2013

"We had a lovely stay at the River Deck - the room was cosy and clean and the heater was even switched on for us. They were very accommodating - when I had made the booking I had made it for a week after we actually needed it and only realised that when we were almost there. They still had room for us and we were able to get a good nights rest. We also enjoyed a good breakfast across the road at the restaurant."

  • "Enjoyable stay"

    07 January 2013

"We stayed in the self catering accommodation at the river, which has the feel of camping with the comfort of proper beds and and ablutions. The unit was serviced daily and fresh towels provided which was great! The kids spent hours in the river which is safe for swimming and didn't miss not having a TV. The only potential problem is the restaurant right next door which can get noisy and nosy members of the public who ignore the "private" signs and walk into your space for a lookylook. This happened quite often (although we were there at the busiest time of the year). Not good if you are naked in the outdoor shower so perhaps a little fence with a gate would be a good idea. On the upside, the restaurant creates a bit of a vibe and we were also able to order delicious meals which were brought over to us when when had had enough of braaing. Although we had no issues with safety, the main unit did not lock and this needs to be sorted out as you do need some security for Ipads, cell phones etc when you go out. I will definitely go back - this type of accommodation definitely provides both the nature and comfort factors as promised. Please note that the name has changed to The Riverdeck which can cause some confusion."

  • "Very nice"

    30 November 2011

"Ons het die tydjie by "The Chapel and Old School" geniet en sal beslis, as die geleentheid homself voordoen, weer daar tuisgaan. Cynthia is 'n perfekte gasvrou. We enjoyed our time at "The Chapel and Old School" and will definitely, when the opportunity arises, visit again. Cynthia is the perfect hostess."

"A wonderful place to retreat from urban rush. Even in bad weather nice and cozy to relax!"

  • "Beautiful!"

    04 January 2011

"This was the best surprise ever. The most beautiful room, old school meets modern retro antique. There is defnitely more than meets the eye. The web photos needs an update, it doesn't do the Guest House enough justice. Thank you for making us feel at home, and doing so much more."
