  "Took my wife for weekend away to Chartwell Country Lodge to celebrate our 3rd wedding anniversary. The gardens were pristine and first impressions were very good. Staff was very friendly. However, on being taken to the honeymoon suite, the staircase was a bit daunting with a wobbly landing and also quite a steep incline. The room and en-suite were very neat and everything was well presented. However, there was no air-conditioning, which I found quite weird considering the room was on the top floor of a thatch roof building, so there room was very hot. I would also suggest you take your own pillows for sleeping, as the ones provided were not of the greatest quality. We were also unfortunate enough to be there on a weekend where the kitchen experienced some problems, so there was a wait for breakfast. Also, the deck around the outside seriously needs some attention as my wife put her heal straight through one of the deck boards on our way out for dinner. So all in all, it is an ideal place for a day visit to make use of the spa, but I would not recommend it for the B&B facilities."

  "My husband was thoroughly surprised when we arrived at the lodge (he thought we were on our way to a client). Our fourth anniversary was a perfect honeymoon experience at Chartwell. The room was stunning - not to mention the hot tub big enough for two. We were spoilt. It really felt like our wedding night all over again. The spa was just as stunning. I'd recommend this quick honeymoon/anniversary getaway to anyone with a romantic bone in their body. It simply was fantastic."

  "When I set out to find that perfect place to spend our wedding night, I was faced with numerous choices. One tends to choose the more commercialized and better known venues out of fear of disappointment. I chose Chartwell Country Lodge because of the reviews it has received and for no other reason. We were blown away with the friendly nature of the staff. You are a king and treated as such. The room was perfect with rose petals, champaign and candles with a jet bath to complete the experience. It could not have been more perfect. I can only hope that if somebody is reading this and want that perfect romantic night, there is no other choice. The spa treatments were heavenly and very private. There is no cattle parade of hundreds of people. You feel like only you exist within the tranquility of the environment. We are definitely repeating the experience every year on out anniversary. I feel like booking now already."

  "First and foremost, I would like to Thank Chartwell Country Lodge in particular "Jolie" for the excellent and personalised service we received this weekend. It was the special Man is my life birthday this weekend, Jolie together with the rest of the Chartwell Management & staff made it the most memorable and unforgettable experience ever. We arrived at Chartwell on friday around four, and were pleasantly welcomed in by Jolie who stood outside waiting for us, we were then escorted to our room, which was an experience out of this world! the manner in which the room was decorated so beautifully and romantically, it has implanted unforgettable pictures in my mind forever.On Saturday we had our full day spa, the treatment and messages was an out of body experience!I have never felt soo calm,relaxed and rejuvenated ever.The treatments and massages were carried out so professionally, pleasurable and meticulously. The Grand finale would have to be the romantic dinner that was prepared for us on Saturday evening, it was absolutely fantastic.The meals and beverages were totally delicious.I have never experienced such excellent service ever! Jolie made sure that our romantic weekend was everything she said it would be and even more.I would like to thank her from the bottom of my heart for making our stay and my "Man's" birthday so special.My partner was totally impressed by the personalised service we received by Chartwell Management and Staff.I will definitely be going back to Chartwell for another visit and will most definitely recommend them to my family and friends. THANK YOU Chartwell for a beautiful weekend."
