  "Having stayed before, we looked forward to overnighting again. After unpacking we went for a walk, and upon returning found that our room had been burgled. The person climbed over the back wall, through a response-connected beam, broke a window in our room, squeezed though the burglar bar and did away with my cash, Kindle, and my son's laptop. Escaped over the same "secure" beam, again with no response from the monitoring company. The manager was quick to respond, calling the police who arrived shortly. The owner expressed deep shock. However, we weren't even moved to another room. We had already paid the deposit for our return trip accommodation a week later and had to stay there again, as well as pay the rest of the accommodation fee. Theowner was nowhere around to answer insurance and liability questions. The rooms are warm, with electric blankets, but we will not be staying there again."

  "Although mentioned in the description, the flatlet is not what it is cracked up to be and the pictures do not depict what the flatlet looks like or its location. It's completely separate from the nice looking Travellers Joy reception. It's in a back alley quite a way down the road. There is no hot water, at all. It doesn't even come out the taps. So no showering possible. Walls are peeling from terrible damp. Definitely not what we expected.The positives: Full DStv, nice kitchen, close to a really great little restaurant (Bordeaux). Safe and secure with private parking and entrance."

  "Nice little place. But couple things a bit off - Swimming pool is basically a dirty pond. Air conditioning in the room does not work complained multiple times about it. No kitchen on hand so can't eat there. Positives - Safe parking Nice rooms Incredible bathroom Friendly staff."

  "Traveller's Joy is the perfect stopover if driving to or from Cape Town and I would recommend it to anyone looking for a warm bed, a clean room and a good night's sleep. Onika (hope I spelt your name correctly) was welcoming, very friendly and made us feel at home. If we do the cross-country drive again, we will definitely be staying there again."

  "After being on the road for hours, we arrived in Colesberg for our overnight stay.We had no problems in finding Traveller's Joy, as the directions that we got, was easy to follow.Although the receptionist wasn't feeling well (we could see how bad she felt), she was friendly and helpful.The room and bathroom was very clean, bedding spotless with a modern interior. We had everything we needed in the room, including a great bed! Although the guesthouse is on one of the main roads with trucks going past, the noise was to a minimum. Our car was parked behind a security gate, which gave us peace of mind.The only problem we had, was with the lack of a bathroom door. We have been together as a couple for 37 years, but with a'view'from the bed onto the toilet......???"

  "It was just lovely arriving, after a long day on the road, to a pre-heated room and electric underblanket on. The decor and renovations are superior. The artistic tile work in the bathroom is spectacular, not to mention the basin - must see it top appreciated it. Everything is brand new, with yesteryear well preserved. We loved the stay and slept wonderfully."
