Corrie Lynn Cottage

Corrie Lynn Cottage offers guests a quiet and private stay on a working farm in Dargle near Howick.

The cottage consists of two bedrooms, one of which is en-suite. They have a queen-size bed and two single beds respectively. We offer clean linen and towels, but guests need to bring their own swimming towels. The kitchen is fully equipped for self-catering with a stove, a microwave, a fridge, a kettle, a toaster, pots and pans as well as all cutlery and crockery. Guests can enjoy their meals at the dining table. The lounge has a double sleeper couch and there is a covered veranda with views over the farms and hills. Braai facilities and parking are available and well-behaved pets are welcome with prior arrangement.

The farm has a herd of Nguni cattle and a flock of sheep.

Guests can walk around the farmlands, fish in the dams or the uMngeni River, do some birdwatching and see the resident cranes; go horse riding by prior arrangement, explore with mountain bikes or go tubing down the river in season.

  • "Peaceful with lovely views!"

"Corrie Lynn Cottage is nicely rustic with a real farm experience. Being able to sit on the veranda on the comfy couches, taking in the beautiful views and fresh air made the weekend very relaxing! My dogs loved the large garden! The host, Tinks, is very friendly! The location of this accommodation is very convenient as it is not too far out from everything."

  • "The beautiful calm of the countryside"

    03 April 2018

"I'm a huge fan of the Dargle area. It's the perfect escape from city life. With drizzly weather, the cottage was lovely and cosy with a fire going. With my slippers on, a glass of wine, my crochet hook bobbing and my hounds snoozling in their beds after a walk - it was pure bliss. Feeding the baby donkey was so special. My dogs loved the walks to the dam. It was great. And Tinks, the host, was friendly and welcoming. ;-)"

  • "Very disappointed"

    24 August 2017

"We booked and paid for 3 nights but left after one night. Could not get ourselves to stay in a dirty place like that. Furniture dusty, the bottom rows of tiles in the shower (black slate) was actually white with dried out soap foam on it and it had an old well used nail brush in it. The bathroom mirror was dirty. You could see the dust on the walls, not even to mention where the walls and ceiling came together, it was filthy. Then the chipped crockery, I had coffee from a chipped mug and breakfast from a chipped plate. The fact that there was no TV did not bother me that much but I would have liked more comfortable furniture as the seating was bad but I should have expected it when I noticed that the couch was totally covered with a throw. This is really unacceptable and disrespectful to paying guests. Worst accommodation we have ever stayed at."

"Rustic accommodation. Lovely hot water and comfy beds. My child was too scared to stay in the extra room as you need to go outside to access this separate room."

  • "Great Weekend Away"

    14 September 2015

"We had a great family weekend away and the fact that there was no TV was even better. Robin, was a scholar and a gentleman and he let the kids touch the new born lambs and feed the young calf's. Will visit again."

  • "Friendly peace and tranquility"

    07 January 2014

"We recently spent three nights at Corrie Lynn in one of the best spots in the Midlands. What an enjoyable and relaxing stay we had. Robin and Tinks were kind hosts and they offer a comfortable, clean and reasonable self-catering cottage at Corrie Lynn. Easily accessible to the main route through the Midlands Meander and overlooking a peaceful and pretty part of the Dargle Valley, this makes an ideal place to stay."
