Pigmy Lodge

Pigmy Lodge is situated at Delareyville, a quaint little town in the middle of North West, surrounded by thorn trees, graze lands and grain fields. It is part of a working milk goat farm and boutique goat cheesery. The cheesery was a finalist at the Platinum Awards of North West Province.

Pigmy Lodge offers five chalets that can accommodate two adults each. An extra camping bed can be provided for children 12 years and younger. Each chalet has a bathroom with a shower. The air-conditioned chalets are equipped with TVs with local channels and have tea and coffee-making facilities available.

The campsite has an ablution block with the gentleman side having showers only while the ladies side has bath and shower facilities. Each site has its own braai area.

The lodge has its own restaurant and bar and conference facilities, as well as a wedding chapel and function venue available.

Dinner is can be served on request.

    "Check in is after 14h00. We arrived after 14h00 and no one to immediately assist. After a while we were assisted but one of the keys for the unit was misplaced. As we travelled quite a distance for the day we all needed a shower before going for dinner. NO WARM water as the geyser was only switch on when we arrived. We loiter for a while and after an hour there were still no warm water and we left for dinner without our shower. After dinner and arrival at the unit the hot water was not sufficient for three people as one geyser have to serve two units. The double bed in the one unit was horrible to say the worst and one unit equipped with a microwave the other not."

    "Wij hadden deze accommodatie (ze noemen dit kippenhok zelf chalet, wat volgens mij kasteeltje in het Frans betekent) vooral uitgezocht, omdat die self catering zou hebben. Er was echter enkel en alleen een mini koelkast en een elektrische waterkoker aanwezig. Meer niet. Gn gasstel of elektrische kookplaat, gn magnetron, geen bestek, gn borden enz. Een verbouwereerde eigenares zorgde wel direct na onze aankomst voor een magnetron. Het verwarmingsdeel van de afstandsbediening was ongedaan (gemaakt), terwijl het 's nachts bijna vroor. Tot overmaat van ramp bleek op zo'n 250 meter afstand een maisfabriek, die dag en nacht constant vreselijk lawaai maakte. Op grond daarvan zijn we de volgende dag meteen op zoek gegaan naar een andere, veel betere plek aan de andere kant van het stadje.<br />"
