  "The eagle nest was amazing, it gave the most amazing view of the area and it is right next to the drinking area for the animals so at night we had a close view of the animals whenever they came to drink water. The lodge was definitely everything i expected it to be and more, i also loved the outside shower. it was indeed a breathtaking experience showering outside with the view of the stars. I enjoyed the self drive in the game reserve as well, the map makes it so easy to drive around the game reserve and seeing the elephant and rhino so close made the whole experience thrilling."

It is a warm farm-like haven to get away from the hassle and bustle of the city. It is not your typical Lodge where you have your home luxuries. Mooiplasie is in the name - it is mooi and a plasie."

  "Ons beste naweek in n lang tyd. Ons het in die Arend Nes gebly, ek het baie verwag maar dit het my verwagting oortref. Dit is skoon netjies en baie romantiese chalet. Beveel aan vir enige paartjie wat wil soul searcing gaan doen. Dit baie anders maar die eienaar was bereid om vir ons n ander chalet te gee, maar o nee hierdie arend nes was ideal, ons het hom herdoop na die Lovers Nest. Die oord self ook baie lekker en rustig, eienaars baie vriendelik en behulpsaam. Nee dit was n naweek duisend, gaan defnitief weer soontoe en my vriende en familie verwys. Love love Mooiplasie........."

  "Accomodation very rustic. Chalet we stayed in very dark. Orange curtains make it feel even darker and warm inside. No cupboard, so had to operate from bags that we placed on the couch, made the room feel even more cramped, hot and messy. and a lot of insects, spiders and spider webs, chalet needs a "Doom fogger" or 2"

  "The owners are friendly and made us feel at home. The Bush Camp is beautiful and well kept, but the chalet was disappointing. We were lucky that it didn't rain and we could spend most of the time outdoors as it would have been a problem otherwise with only 1 chair and a 2 seater inside and we were 6 people. The 3 persons who slept in the first room (which was also the living area) also had nowhere to unpack their belongings and had to live out of suitcases which took up the little space available.I also think one of us misunderstands self-catering - I thought it was providing and preparing your own food - not being advised that you had to clean everything including washing the dish cloths. (I have spent cheaper weekends at other self-catering accommodation where the chalet was swept and beds made everyday. I am really not lazy, but don't want to spend my weekend away cleaning - maybe I misunderstand the word "holiday")I enjoyed my weekend, but won't be back."

  "We used the off-road caravan park. There are only three stands next to a dam in the spruit with lots of birdlife and beautiful water lilies. Being winter, we were the only campers, pitching two tents. It is very quiet and a great spot to do star gazing. The chemical toilet is very clean, but remember to take enough water! There is no water supply. Although the area isn't teeming with wildlife, the gravel tracks that lead to the spot are very scenic and a nice off-road drive. Also remember that the campsite isn't fenced, so you have to stay alert, although I presume the lions nor elephant will wander into the little valley very often. You will have to sign an indemnity form at the main (fenced) camp before entering, though. Will definitely go back. It is a prober veld experience only about 50 km out of Pretoria."

I would recommend it for anyone looking for a break away from the everyday hustle and bustle. There is just one aspect I can comment negatively on, R25 for a small bag of ice is a bit steep."

  "All was great, the place is amazing and I would recommend it to everybody; just the attitude of the caretaker could improve a little bit after we where treated like school kids and then he went to listen behind the fence what our PERSONAL comments was (in our paid for pvt stand!) regarding his bombastic approach, on which he jump from behind the wall to act like a "wwe wrestler", all because we played some country music in our car at 14h30 and it was not hard at all. But other than that the place is a dream haven and the caretaker lady an absolutely angel! And we will definitely be going back as soon as we can get out of the crazy city life."
