Stay-A-While Guest House

Centrally situated in "The Avenues" in the quiet residential suburb of Edenvale. Only 10 minutes from O.R.Tambo International Airport, Stay-a-While is an ideal base from which to explore the city and surrounds, or as a launch for your South African adventure. We have created an atmosphere that makes our guests feel completely relaxed, whether on business or leisure.

Private covered patios alongside the suites, some with private gardens. Three interlinked and landscaped properties centred around the oldest house in Edenvale. This historic house, built circa 1911 to 1916, has been lovingly restored. The steel pressed ceilings and wooden floors are a reminder of days gone by.

Stay-a-While guest house comprises of sixteen suites, set in secure gardens with off-street parking and a large swimming pool for those sunny Highveld days. Our sixteen (one single room, twelve double rooms and three family suites) well-appointed suites all have DStv, kitchens or kitchenettes, clock radios and en-suite bathrooms with showers and/or baths, with private access and off-street parking for all guests.

All suites have access to wireless internet as well as DStv. A fridge, microwave, toaster, kettle and a courtesy tray with coffee, tea, sugar and creamers is available in each suite.

The gardens have prolific bird-life because of the indigenous trees and nests. Some of the regular birds (in their seasons) are starlings, black-collar barbets, Long-Billed Wood Hoepoe, Crested Barbet, Robin, African Go-away birds, Shrike, Mouse-Birds, African Hoepoe, Hadeda's and more.

The relaxing gardens along with the outside gazebo and swimming pool really come in handy during the summer months and are best enjoyed between the months of September and April. This area also has a braai facility for barbeques and bonfires.

  • "A smiling face after a long flight"

    11 October 2008

"It was so great to have someone who genuinely cared that I was comfortable on my first night in South Africa. Li-Ann gave me a short tour of the property and showed me the procedure for opening and closing the gates for the car park. It was easy to find the property from JNB - I would guess it's about a 15 minute drive. Because of the9 hour time difference, I woke up at 1 am and I drove back to JNB to exchange my rental car for a different model. I left early so I can't comment on the breakfast. My room had a fridge, microwave and internet. Good choice for someone looking for accommodation in Edenvale, near Johannesburg airport . "
