Old Beacon Hill

Welcome to Old Beacon Hill, once an old railway station at the heart of KwaZulu-Natal, now converted to beautiful self-catering cottages. Set in stunning surrounds and wonderfully located, we are the ideal platform to discover what the Drakensberg, the Midlands Meander and the historic Battlefields have to offer.

Arts, crafts, game reserves, food and drink, outdoor pursuits, historical monuments, relaxation and sports are all within easy reach of the venue.

Old Beacon Hill has four cottages on the land accommodating up to a total of 20 guests and as many infants under three as you can squeeze in. We also have an exclusive caravan and camping enclosure that boasts their own shower and toilet.

There are over seven hectares of land to explore that has a stream running along it, a torch-lit gazebo over-looking a pond and plenty of wildlife. On our doorstep there are beautiful drives and walks where you can see Bushmans River in all its glory and the first of many Battlefield sites. We are the ideal base for a lengthy holiday and fantastically positioned for a quick stop-over.

"We stayed in a self contained flat which was very clean and freshly painted. The view was nice and the area was quiet, despite a road running past the back of the house. Old Beacon Hill is easy to find from Estcourt. Overall good value, and host were friendly."
