  • "You get value for money accommodation when you just need a place to stay over for business."

    16 November 2018

"My first room was not made up for me and they moved me to a new room without hesitation. The new room was clean and I was able to catch up on my work with the Free WiFi and had a good nights sleep. For budget accommodation i was very happy with the rooms and the service."

  • "You get what you pay for"

    27 March 2012

"The staff were friendly, we had no issues service-delivery wise. The walls were very thin so you can hear people speak, shower, stomping around and so on. There was a group of kids running around and practicing violin at the crack of dawn as the Traveller’s Lodge is right next to a high school. But all-in-all, we got what we paid for and our stay was nice enough."

    28 November 2011

"We had a one-night stay at the lovely Franschhoek Traveller's Lodge and we were 100% happy with our accommodation. The room was clean and neat and the manager was very friendly and accommodating. And, of course, the rate was very affordable. What more does a traveller need? A big thank you and we will be back!"

  • "Basic but clean"

    03 January 2011

"The rooms are large and spotlessly clean. However, this is an old school hostel and the beds and fittings are pretty run down. If you are just looking for a place to put your head down and have a shower, it is good value. Bedside lamps would be nice."

    Shaun Baisley, South Africa

  • "Wonderful! "

    02 April 2008

"Very clean and tidy. Hosts were incredibly welcoming. As long as you don't mind sharing a bathroom, you'll be as comfortable as you would be paying 5 times as much elsewhere in town! Beds were great. Highly recommended."

  • "Great for affordable accommodation"

    24 September 2007

"The establishment is situated withing walking distance to the main road in Franschoek. One can not get away from the boarding school feel of the place, but overall a pleasant experience. The room was basic and clean, the shared bathrooms were also very clean. What one saves on accommodation is well worth splashing out on the lovely restaurants and taking advantage of the wine tasting in the area not to mention a visit to the Hugeunot museum."
