The Outeniqua Country Hop Route, beautiful farm land where visits to a wide variety of activities and products are encouraged. Strawberry farms, hi-tech milking parlours, cheese making, old-fashioned farmers' hospitality and cuisine to name but a few, are all within a short drive or walk.
Harolds bay, Victoria bay and Glentana the rugged coastline of the southern cape with its fantastic beaches are within 15 minutes drive, Fancourt, famous golfing within ten minutes drive, game farms short drive only to Botlierskop and or Nyaru game farms. The largely undiscovered hinterland of the Outeniqua mountains Harold, Waboomskraal, Friemersheim, Karatara, de rust close to George along spectacular routes. 14 May 2012"Despite the view being absolutely breathtaking and the initial check-in fabulous, upon arrival I was informed about a swarm of bees that was smoked out of the chimney earlier that day. I thought the problem was solved but after I was there for about an hour I killed almost 30 bees with a can of doom, I felt like pest control. I've never been stung by a bee so I have no idea if I'm allergic or not. I was not informed of the bees before arrival and it's not as if they moved in over night. It is a dangerous situation and when I asked to rather be accommodated elsewhere due to the bee problem it wasn't handled in a professional manner. The owners got angry that I wanted to cancel and then I had to stand and listen to them thinking I have a fear of insects. I personally believe there is a huge difference between two bees lost in the house and a swarm living in the chimney. So after I asked my money back due to the situation at the premises (not my problem) I was informed that I still have to pay a cancellation fee of 25%! I feel this is really unprofessional and if it wasn't for the swarm of bees I wouldn't have cancelled. They could have at least informed me about this problem earlier before arrival so that I could have changed my plans. I still haven't received any money from them. Very unprofessional and I feel betrayed, like they hid the problem so that they could still at least get my cancellation fee money."
