  "I did not red the fine print and nowhere was anything said to me that there is a quite heafty key deposito. Staff was very friendly and helped where ever they could. I also met the owner, also a very pleasant person."

  "The unit smelled and the linen was so thread bare. The pillows had long since seen better days - two pillows in a pillow case. There was only one blanket and no electric blanket and the room was extremely cold.Self catering was some what impossible as there was only a saucepan and a large pot. The bath room left a lot to be desired, there was not even a bath mat on the floor.The host were not very welcoming at all. They would not open the gate for us to pull the car in till I had till I had filled in a form and paid a key deposit. This I find in very bad taste. I had not yet received the keys when I was asked what time will I be leaving. I would most certainty never go back or advise people to go there. This was by far the worst place I have ever stayed in."

  "I was going to skip reviewing - something better left unsaid - but their failure to honour a verbal agreement on my departure has left me feeling uncharitable. The room had wet carpets, it smelt damp, the shower drain stank but the shower is good, the cupboards smelt musty, the blankets were plentiful but dirty, and the linen had burn marks from an iron. The bed was comfortable (aside from the polyester linen) but under the window, which meant you either had fresh air and froze, or inhaled the mouldy smell. It is a lovely old house, with a good front stoep. Perhaps the other bedrooms are better - don't ask for the blue room. And get any agreements in writing."

  "I received the most friendly and helpful reception, so lovely and great first impression of the B&B. The owners couldn't have been more sweet and they ensured that I would leave with a good impression. Everything about the B&B was good. It was clean, in a good location, roomy, with excellent service and great value for money. The room itself was well equipped and comfortable. I was very pleased with my stay, and although it was short and sweet, I'll surely go back for a longer visit in the future."

  "When we arrived Juan seemed to confuse us with other people, till I showed him the confirmation letter I had. We were tired and just wanted to have some dinner and go to bed.The apartment we were given was shabby. We are three ladies all in our 70's and I being the youngest had to get up onto a wobbly bunk bed with no ladder but only a 'bankie' to stand on. Carpet and sleeper couch were filthy. Light fittings broken and an excuse for a net curtain in the bedroom. The Breakfast they offered was very expensive ie R5.00 per egg, R15.00 for a piece of bacon etc plus an extra R20.00 preparation fee. We feel we were just shoved into the last available space in their establishment. It was only R249.00 per night per person but we still would have expected clean, and neat and simple rooms for the price."

  "Very old interior, dirty carpets, scanty curtains, linen, only shower and toilet with cheapest handwash and spray ... creepy atmosphere. Flatlet is divided by door to another room and can hear other people clearly. For R1200 per night? Never ever again. Only stayed for the night as we could not find any other accommodation in George for the night."

  "Made to feel very welcome. We had booked a room but were given the option to upgarde to Die Hoenderhok. Very comfortable and very clean. Very basic but an excellent deal. Nice and quiet.Lovely hot water. Our Scottie enjoyed her stay too. Will see you again!"

  "I stayed there for 2 days in the "hoenderhok" flat. It was very nice. Everything was clean and tidy. Ideal type for what was looking for. The price was good as well. I just expect my check-in was with less hassles.Example like the key-deposit that wasn't mentioned unless i made telephone contact with them."

  "We were very disappointed. First of all the directions did not include a street nr, only the street name and there were no signs outside the house. We had to phone to find out the number of the house. The entire property/house is very run down and in need of maintenance. The "lounge" in the flat turned out to be a room no bigger than about 10 square meter with a couch, 2 chairs and a double bunk. The one bedroom was a prefab room into the garage (safety risk). We could hear everything our neighbors said. The bedding had burn marks and towels were discoloured with bleach and had holes in. The top sheet for the queen-size bed was meant for a single bed, pillows are of poor quality. The carpets were very old and dirty. WiFi couldn't be accessed from the flat. According to the website it sleeps 7, but there's only seating for 4 people. Bedside lamps only in main bedroom and so I can carry on. All in all a very cheapskate setup."

  "We stayed for one night in the house. It was clean, functional, quiet and excellent value for money. Also very easy to find and in a good area. Our car gave problems the next morning and while we were waiting on roadside assistance, Marianna brought us two cups of steaming coffee to the road. This was while she had her hands full with a carload of guests who had just arrived from Cape Town."

  "My wife and I stayed at the Farmhouse during our December vacation. We found our hosts to be extremely friendly and helpful. They create a family like atmosphere and we felt part of the family. I would recommend the place to anyone who would like a home away from home. I will definitely return again."

  "Upon arrival we were mistaken for people coming to groom dogs. The house that we stayed in looked nothing like the pictures, and no facilities listed were available (Jacuzzi, sauna, pool, lounge with pool table etc.). There was no electricity upon arrival, and was only sorted out after we got back from a restaurant.The Giant beds in the pictures are also non existing. My wife and I had to spend our first night on honeymoon on a tiny bed.We could see the dead insects and dust underneath the beds.Our courtyard looked as if it was a storage space for old garage doors. Outside chairs and table were in a terrible condition and we were too scared of breaking them."
