"Absolutely beautiful - serene - quite and revitalizing!"
"Secluded serene idyllic mountain view with the birdsong and the waterfall constantly reminding you of its presence. The cottages is well prepared and cater abundantly for the self service guy. Not for the hotel hands on waiter guys. Would go back any time specially when its foggy and cool. The getaway of getaway's. Thanks Mark!!!"
"Everything peace and tranquillity it was just perfect we enjoyed every moment of our stay; the staff is very friendly and the owner mark just awesome experience was just perfectly awesome."
"This was truly unforgettable, the cottage was fully equipped and the surroundings was breathtaking. Really appreciated the attention to detail, such as bubble bath at outside bath (GLORIOUS) and emergency lights in every room. The hike along the river around the property was incredible. Will definitely be back for a long stay."
"Bruce and I thoroughly enjoyed every minute of our far too short stay at this attractive, well appointed and clean cottage. Thank you for all the thought that has gone into ensuring that visitors want for nothing. Brilliant little place and we shall most definitely stay again and recommend that our friends stay there."
"The Robin Cottage that we stayed in was amazing. The scenery was spectacular. The cottage couldn't have been better and the outside bathroom was a surprising bonus. A great experience overall, just be prepared for a really rough road into the property."
"We stayed at the Trogon cottage. It was magical, magnificent and I actually want to keep this place for myself... Extremely private, especially the outside bath! Spacious with a fully kitted kitchen. Do take a walk along the river. Thank you again for the carefree stay."
"After a frightening drive, we arrived to the cutest cottage in the forests and loved the charm of the Robin Cottage. We spent a night and wished that we had booked for longer. What a delight the outdoor bath was. A restful and peaceful haven."
"<p style="margin: 0cm 0cm 0pt;"><span style="font-family: calibri;">Trogon Cottage was an absolute delight and pleasure for Merry and me. It is extremely well equipped, right down to aprons in the kitchen. The personal touches were also superb bubble bath at the outside bath, strip of candles in the main bathroom etc. The plunge pool was perfect for a hot day braaing outside. The peace and solitude of the cottage setting were just what we needed.</span></p><p style="margin: 0cm 0cm 0pt;"><span style="font-family: calibri;"></span></p><p style="margin: 0cm 0cm 0pt;"><span style="font-family: calibri;">Will we return ? next booking underway! "We were pleasantly surprised by the beauty and simplicity of the cottage, the unexpected romance of a nearby waterfall, outside bath and remoteness. Will definitely be returning soon!"
"We planned a short, much needed getaway. Just for 2. It was fabulous! We had a wonderful stay. Surroundings so tranquil. Nothing comes close to this atmosphere. And so well equipped! Thank you very much!! Willem & Lisa"
"This cottage was very nice, clean and larger than we expected. The place has been well designed to provide you with lots of windows to look out in different directions. I loved the kitchen which was very well appointed. Seed was provided to feed the colorful birds. The samango monkeys came by briefly but did not bother us.<div>Very quiet and relaxing. The road to the cottage is a bit rough but with the right vehicle it is ok.</div><div>Did not have time to explore the trails nearby. We would return and stay longer if we are in the area.</div>"
"I recently enjoyed a week in Trogon cottage and can't recommend it highly enough. Very comfortable accommodations, and fantastic birding, too!"
"This place is just the best."
"What a little gem! Will recommend to anyone. Excellent facilities and the hosts thought of every last detail. This is in fact a little piece of heaven!Thank you so much."
"I cannot add to the glowing reviews that already exists. The only thing I can add, is that the cottages, at least Robin, where I stayed, is equipped with every possible thing you can imagine for your stay. This is not clear on the website. But from any type of cutlery, wine glasses, roasting tins, sunlight liquid, wood, firelighters, blankets, cards, games, bodywash, any kind of utensil, pillows, bug repellent - you name it, they've got it. So don't bring anything. Bring yourself, your food and some clothes. And enjoy. It truly is worth every moment."
"We loved the venue and all the waterfalls and walks were really enjoyable. We even saw a honey badger which made our day. So peaceful.Well done to Mark and Bridget"
"What a beautiful little piece of paradise... we will definitely be back soon! :)"
"This is a very neat little cottage which is well equipt with everything you need from bedding to a coffee plunger. Tucked away in the beautiful Magoebaskloof pass, this is the perfect setting to get away from the city and explore the surrounding forestry."
"What an amazing place, we enjoyed every second! The cottage is very well equipped, we had everything we needed for a comfortable stay. The farm is breathtaking, we especially enjoyed the waterfall in our backyard. We will definitely be coming back for a longer stay!"
"Well equipped with all you need from a self catering break away - flowers on the table made us feel as if we arrived home (if only home could have been in this beautiful magical place). Cant wait to return back to the Birders' Cottages ASAP!"
"We enjoyed our stay and will go back there!"
"We enjoyed our stay at this beautiful well equiped cottage so much, and wish we could have stayed longer. This is one of the best equiped self catering places I have ever seen, with lots of crockery, cutlery and pots and pans to make a huge meal in the large farm-style kitchen. The bathroom is modern with a huge shower and the water stayed hot in the geyser even when the electricity went out. The cottage is well equiped for power outages, with a cosy fireplace, lots of lamps, candles and a gas stove. There are large windows with an excellent view of the mountain. One could bring lots of books and just relax here in front of the fireplace for weeks. Thanks for a lovely stay."
"Lovely cottage, beautiful surrounds."
"Absolute heaven!! It was like staying in paradise. We woke up with the sound of birds and the waterfall. Thoroughly enjoyed the walking trails. The cottage was well equiped and we didn't come short of anything."
"A truly lovely, extremely well equipped getaway cottage. Birder's paradise. Beautiful views. Stunning walks. Above all incredible peace. A fantastic soul restoring experience. Thank you."
"Beautiful surroundings. Attention to detail in cottage. Love the outside bath. If you love nature/birds and want a bit of peace and quite - highly recommended!"
"Its an awesome place with great attention to detail. The scenery is amazing, the house itself is a dream; its just indescribable. However, we were driving a smaller car and we arrived there pretty late so the drive up was unpleasant. Its easier in daylight but its definitely better to drive a bigger car. A big thank you to our hosts, Mark and Bridget. We're definitely going back there."
"Accommodation is excellent. Very pleasant surroundings."
"Awesome experience! Nature at her best! Body and soul revived. Thank you for the privilege."
