The Pennefather is situated within walking distance to shops and restaurants in Haenertsburg Village, and a great base from which to explore the surrounding areas of Magoebaskloof. Re-live the atmosphere of a bygone era, with grandma's bread pans, the gold miner's tools and old books that tell tales of old times. There are three trading posts on the property and six self-catering cottages. The luxury cottages are named after well-known personalities that shaped the history of Haenertsburg in the early nineteen hundreds. The two trading posts are both named after gold-mining companies and both buildings were built in the style reminiscent of that time. Remember yester-year as you browse through the trading posts filled with an old-world charm.Never Despair is a nostalgic shop that stocks a good range of selective antiques, collectibles and gifts. New Found Out is a lovely jumble of colourful clothing, shoes and interesting accessories. Memory Hold-The-Door is a second-hand bookshop that will hold and entice you to sit down in front of the fireplace with a book on your lap. The coffee shop leads onto an outside patio and offers delicious homemade sweet-and savoury treats.Pet friendly - please enquire.
