Peglarae Bush Lodge

Peglarae Bush Lodge offers comfortable accommodation within a short drive of the Hartbeespoort Dam and all it has to offer. Peglarae Bush Lodge consists of a lovely self-catering Cottage, a Penthouse which is perfect for a honeymoon and three Two-sleeper Units.

All the units are equipped with DStv and tea and coffee facilities are available. The rooms are furnished with queen-size or twin single beds and some units have an en-suite bathroom with a shower or bath. The Cottage has a kitchen that is equipped with a microwave, a fridge and an oven. Guests also have a private patio and a braai boma. The Two-bedroom Units and the Penthouse have Jacuzzi baths and the Penthouse also has a private balcony with lovely mountain views.

Hartbeespoort offers the best of both worlds; the Magaliesberg Mountains for hiking and the dam for water sports. The Magaliesberg offers both easy walks and challenging hikes with waterfalls, streams and water holes along the route; ideal for swimming or a picnic. A variety of water sports can be enjoyed on the dam itself, from boating to fishing. Guests can also enjoy a hot air balloon ride, go hang-gliding, visit the zoo and snake park and take a short ride to the De Wildt Cheetah Research Centre or the Cradle of Humankind. For a cultural visit, theres the Lesedi Cultural Village and for the golfers, stop at one of the two golf courses nearby - the Magalies Park Golf Course or the Pecanwood Golf Course.

  • "Quiet and Tranquil"

    30 September 2013

"My wife and I enjoyed the quiet and tranquility. The surroundings are beautiful and the rondawel completes the setting perfectly. THe staff are pleasant and helpful. The resort has potential and once it is completely upgraded it will be a place to be reckoned with."

  • "Disappointing weekend"

    29 July 2013

"Disappointed....we did not have the privacy that we thought we would have had from others...the room was OK but we were on top of other rooms and you could hear all conversations and goings on that were happening...no privacy...very little to do and the price for the weekend was expensive...we also were settling down to watch the super 15 rugby game and the signal was lost...so all in all a very disappointing weekend...we WON'T be going back and certainly not recommending to others....2/10."

  • "Not bad"

    27 May 2013

"It was okay. I was looking forward to a relaxing break away, but found the bath tap and DStv remote not to work, so a little disappointing. On a whole though a very clean and quaint place."

  • "Fabulous stay"

    26 April 2013

"The girls and I had a great time, well deserved break and we hoping to make another trip in future as some members of the group had to cancel. The lights kept tripping but was later fixed, the lady at reception should have been more vocal in terms of what she wanted from us. Overall a pleasant stay."

  • "Lovely stay"

    21 January 2013

"Had a lovely stay, loved the room setup. My only complaint was that my room had no water. Had to phone the emergency number very early in the morning as I still had a appoint in PTA and needed to have a bath. This however was attended to immediately and thank you for the quick service. Will definately use Peglarae Bush Lodge again."

  • "Nice weekend getaway"

    10 December 2012

"The 2 bedroom cottages are quite quaint. Would have loved a air con in the rooms as they where a bit stuffy. Nice surpise when I opened my front door at 7AM and found 3 giraffes walking past me. Had two big black dogs chase us when we went for an afternoon walk. At least we had our cardio workout that day. Nice and peacful otherwise, awesome night time star viewing."

  • "Out Africa turned into a in Africa crime experience"

    19 November 2012

"When we arrived spa bath did not work. (And the place does not look in anyway as on picks). I called came and fixed the problem. We were awaken with being broken into my car, and dogs chasing the Game. When I called the owner, all that I got was sorry. Not even can I help you call the police. Or get P.G Glass to fix the window. I don't even know how SafariNow can list people like this.<br></br> <b>Establishment Response:</b><br></br> <i>The client did not know how to start the bath and we showed him. Unfortunately we had a bad storm and our gate was hit by lightning and was out of commission. That night we had two break-ins (into cars - our first ever).<br></br> We called P.G Glass and had it fixed for the other client and he was very satisfied with help. Mr. Oost already left so we could not help him.<br></br> We apologize for this but ask clients to be careful, not to leave valuable goods in the car. I am sorry Mr. Oost did not enjoy his stay but this is more the exception than the rule.</i><br></br>"
