  • "Worst place ever in Hazyview"

    22 December 2013

"Good Points - Ilse, couldn't do enough for you, laid on a delicious breakfast, that's all of the good points.Bad Points - this accommodation is not for a couple there is absolutely no privacy, your downstairs and your fridge is upstairs enough said, it caters for tours that are in and out in one night, with tours arriving and leaving nearly every day, maybe thats why the place is being neglected, she has a regular source of income the tourists mainly in S.A FOR THE FIRST TIME don't know a good lodge from a bad one, for instance I'll only describe three problems on arrival no plug for the washhand basin, the toilet holder was hanging of the wall held in position with one screw, three light bulbs required replacement, these were duly reported Saturday afternoon when we left on Monday nothing had been done. That's just three there were more, I've stayed in Hazyview many times without a doubt this was the worst place EVER."

  • "Hazyview Drifters - a slice of Heaven"

    15 September 2009

"We were charmed and impressed with our stay at Drifters Hazyview Lodge. We knew we were in for a treat when an ostrich escorted us down the road and we were greeted at the door by a very large pig named Napoleon. The rest of the experience proved to be just as unique and rewarding. The guest house in which we stayed was clean, comfortable and tastefully decorated with wooden furniture and subtle lighting. Our room (one of 6 suites) had a comfy bed, soft pillows and thick warm blankets in case of a chilly night. The patio/veranda at the back of the house opened up onto a lush expanse of forest with a pond. A creek runs from the pond down to the river below. There is a kitchen with fridge and washing machine as well as a coffee machine for the use of the guests. Breakfast in the main building is an opportunity to meet and interact with other guests as well as various cats, dogs and other wildlife resident at the Inn. We enjoyed a hearty breakfast of scrambled eggs and toast while watching monkeys in the trees beyond the deck. The main buildings are built on stilts in the tree canopy which makes you feel almost as if you're floating. Security around the Inn is very good. You have to go through three gates, which are access-controlled, to get down to the Inn itself. There are regular and electric fences. We felt very safe and secure.Carolyn, the Inn manager, is extremely friendly and helpful and obviously loves her job. We can certainly see why. Drifters Hazyview is one of those places that once you've been there, you'll always want to go back."

"The Drifters is an absolute haven for people looking to relax and get away from the hustle & bustle. We had a fantastic stay there. The rooms are awesome, especially the one we stayed in with the big bath tub. We didn't even notice there was no TV in the room."

"The internet did not prepare us for what we found. The accommodation is much better and the photos should be updated. Real value for money and I will return. The natural beauty of the area is a must for nature lovers and bird watchers.Thank you for a very nice stay."

  • "Fantastic Getaway"

    18 April 2006

"It was a fantastic getaway. The constant sound of flowing water, the view of a green forest, the neat way in which the room was kept and adequate self-catering facilities makes it a place to revisit. I must admit that one of those peacocks/peahen or looked suspiciously unfriendly. In the same way, something can be done about the directions offered on your website."
