The Village Manor

The Village Manor is a luxurious guest house located in the quiet area of Henley on Kip, south of Johannesburg. The large manor offers numerous rooms each individually decorated and set in a tropical garden.

The rooms offer luxury bedding in a subtle African themed combined with African antiques. Each room has its own unique touches to create an elegant and relaxing stay for its occupants. Guests can enjoy air-conditioned rooms with Internet access and underfloor heating. Guests can enjoy meals in the dining room or the garden. There are also numerous eating establishments in and around Henley.

The large property boasts a spacious garden with a braai area and a swimming pool. There is ample safe and secure off-street parking. We can arrange a shuttle service on request with our private transfer service.

"I can imagine how beautiful it is to stay here, but in Summer.. We stayed in the family suite, No. 1. It was absolutely freezing in the unit. There was a small 4 fin heater in my bedroom, and only one blanket and a thin top cover on the beds! Electric blanket on the double bed, but not plugged in, or didnt work. Loadshedding put paid to the heater for some hours. There are fireplaces in the unit, but as we were only there for one night, and we're going to be coming back late, we couldn't light them and leave unattended. I was so grateful for my tracksuit and thick winter gown which I wore to bed. Bedside lamps weren't plugged in when we arrived, and couldn't find any plugs points. I lit the candles provided just to be able to see. Beds were tortuously uncomfortable. My back, hips and neck are in agony today. No mats on the bathroom floor, just cold tiles. Wanted to arrange breakfast for the next morning, and we're told to rather go elsewhere for breakfast, as they were busy decluttering the kitchen for a yard sale. Just didn't feel warm or welcome here at all. Establishment Response: Hello Joanne, you have every right to give us the review you have. I will not attempt to justify our shortcomings. We were in the wrong. I did not do the routine check I usually do prior to guests checking in. The decluttering yard sale in something we do once every 4 years. I apologize if you never felt welcome? Regarding the Breakfast you asked about. I felt it would be better to refer you to a reputable coffee shop in Henley as we would be sorting the leftover goods from the sale in the dining room. I would like to compensate for our shortcoming and offer you and your family a free nights stay (preferably in the summer ;) including breakfast. Please forgive me and allow me to make up for your bad experience. The attached images are of our dining room this morning."
