  "Trogon Guest House is a tranquil location very close to the Knysna Heads. The house is tastefully furnished and decorated with works of art from different continents. We particularly enjoyed the wonderful terrace surrounded by a beautiful garden with green plants and colourful flowers with a staggering panoramic view of the Knysna Lagoon. We were offered a varied and rich breakfast. Fred was a kind and obliging host who provided a perfect service."

  "The Good: Close to Knysna The Bad: Did the Garden Route with my family and paid the most for this accommodation, expecting the best. Only received two blankets for four guests. Stayed here during July and did not have enough blankets for the cold – had to buy two blankets. Toilet did not flush, had to manually flush it. Shower door opens inward, can hardly get into the thing. Shower drain was blocked. Main room linen was not washed, spider webs between pillows and bed full of dead insects! Body excretions on continental pillow. Kettle full of old filthy water. Not enough eating utensils and was forced to take my family out to eat – cost me a fortune to stay there. Rusted braai. Can see that the main focus was to make money and not to treat you as a guest. All furniture and blankets years old and couch with broken springs, very low quality mattress. DStv available but you have to watch what the owner does - be careful if you have children. <br></br> <b>Establishment's Response</b> <br></br> <i> The toilet flush mechanism broke. I repaired it. However, it broke again before I got it finally fixed. Regarding the shower outlet that was blocked, when they told me I immediately cleaned it. There was a dead insect underneath the pillow which got there after the bed was made up.</i> <br></br> <i>I apologised for the inconvenience and gave the man a R200 cash refund and his wife a box of chocolates.</i> <br></br> <i>Regarding the other complaints:</i> <br></br> <i>1. The bedding was clean; 2. The kettle was used by the previous tenants and could simply be emptied and refilled; 3. The braai is fully functional; 4. The TV satellite does have only one setting. However, I seldom watch TV and set it to the channel that the guest wants; 5. There are more than enough blankets. They did not seem to use them. If they couldn’t find them or needed more, all they had to do was ask; 6. The couch and mattress are fine and have served many appreciative guests before; 7. As far as value for money is concerned, Trogon Guest House is one of the cheapest guest houses in Knysna.</i>"
