Klawer Hotel

Klawer Hotel is situated in beautiful surroundings with a tranquil atmosphere, and beautiful views over the Klawer Mountains and wine farming community from the deck. We offer 16 en-suite rooms in the hotel, of which four are family rooms and 12 en-suite chalets around the swimming pool.

There is secure parking with electronic gates which are locked 24-7, as well as remote access for all guests. The clear swimming pool is ideal for those hot summer days or for just relaxing. If you want to get away from the hustle and bustle of city life, then Klawer is your destination - less than three hours' drive from Cape Town.

Margos Restaurant boasts a full a la carte menu and includes everything from succulently grilled steaks to pizzas prepared in an authentic wood-fire pizza oven, as well as a big screen TV and a pub.

The town Klawer, is named after the wild clover that grows in the area. Situated on the banks on the Olifant's River, the town has a distinct rural atmosphere and character. Klawer is an excellent starting point from where you can discover the rest of the Oliphants River Valley. In the flowering season, the fields miraculously turn into a fairyland of colour, contrasting sharply with the hard rocks and red earth and contributing to a magnificent sight.

"Rooms very basic.. no windows to look out... TV didnt work eventually they got it to work a few hours later. The reception is miles away from the front door. Guests have to walk through the dining room while diners are eating to book into the hotel. Towels were worn. Staff were friendly."

"Unfortunately, we did not enjoy our stay. My husband is a very easy going person, but even he was not impressed. We were told that we were to stay in the new section of the hotel. Well.for a section that was new, there was mold on the ceiling and shower was not properly cleaned. The room was not a true reflection of what was advertised. Just walking in, we were not impressed. Yet, it was indicated that no-one else was booked for the night.I thought we could look past that but then supper and breakfast did not go that well either....The waitress that attended to us was moody and irritated and the only smile were got, was when she saw the tip. We felt as if were a nuisance. The breakfast was great, but could not be enjoyed as we were being watched the whole time.literally.I have never felt sooo uncomfortable. The noise right outside our room window kept us away till early hours of the morning. We are regular travelers and have stayed in various establishment, and for the costs of this one I expected more.I compared it to an establishment not tooo far from this one and it was at a lower rate, but it was faaaarrr better.I have never wanted to leave a place as badly as I did this place. And please, fragrance is essential when having pets and smokers. The combination is hectic."
