Die Houthoop

Die Houthoop is a guest farm in the Northern Cape, Namaqualand. The name is derived from a pile of wood, packed in a semi-circle that serves as an open air restaurant. Die Houthoop sleeps up to 66 people and there are 25 huts, four en-suite self-catering units and 10 grass camping with electricity.

We are centrally situated close to the sea and the Namaqua National Park, and are on the way to Richtersveld, 60 km from Port Nolloth, 85 km from Hondeklipbay and 115 km from Springbok.

Activities include swimming in the pool, 4x4 routes, sand surfing, bird watching and sea fishing or cray fishing. Our restaurant facility is a buffet with the best seafood and we have a little chapel for weddings. Die Houthoop is ideal for teambuilding and can accommodate large groups, like the RSG 4x4 groups that visit us yearly. We have an informal setup in a safe and lovely environment.
