  • "A welcome rest over at Stoneybrook Kokstad"

    27 December 2015

"Up front -- the pool you see does not exist. It was a great disappointment after driving 7 hours on a hot day from East London. The self-catering log cabinand scenery were stunning. Regrettably we had searched forS-C and were sorry not to have an opportunity to try their renownedmini-restaurant -- recommended by two extended family members."

  • "A NO NO"

    24 December 2015

"This place is rundown, and there is NO pool, so this is false advertising.<div><br /></div><div>I strong suggest that SafariNow, disassociates itself with Stoneybrook.</div><div><br /></div><div><br /></div>"

  • "Disappointing"

    02 November 2015

"Please remove pictures on website-totally misleading! No pool and obviously taken years ago.Our accomodation was rustic and in dire need of a good springclean.Advertised as non smoking... our bedroom reeked of smoke, towels tatty, doors scraping/badly fitted. Our friends shared a towel.Kitchen stuff needs to be sorted=cracked glasses, chipped items, not enough spoons to name a few.One verandah chair broken, others dicky-pity cos the view and setting are great.Would not recommend this establishment to anyone sadly"

  • "Stonybrook was a pleasant Surprise!"

    10 December 2014

"We really enjoyed our stay at Stonybrook. The accommodation exceeded our expectations and the view over the large 20Ha + dam was magnificent. We enjoyed the food in the restaurant which was "home cooked and tasty" despite the load shedding, and also well priced. The boys asked to stay another night, which was possible, and we spent the next day fishing for grass carp in the well stocked dam. The owner was friendly and helpful too."

  • "Road Trip Stayover"

    02 June 2014

"We really enjoyed the atmosphere and efficiency. The 4-room house is excellently private and quiet. Its decor fits the outdoor feel. We enjoyed the fireplace, front veranda and view. Two of the gas geysers did however not produce sufficiently hot water, but we overcame by sharing one bathroom.Restaurant was excellent."

  • "Potential"

    14 January 2014

"Very hard to find the cottage at night and staff not helpful. Not very clean. Place has potential."

  • "Spoilt by litter"

    08 January 2014

"Our unit overlooking the dam was in an amazing setting. Even the visit by a Rinkhals didn't put a damper on our stay but what was disappointing was the amount of litter (broken bottles, glass, plastic, etc) around the unit which I'm sure posed a threat to the cattle on the farm."

  • "Good stay"

    07 January 2014

"The chalet is clean and well furnished and overlooks the river. Nice pub. Definitely worth the extra few kilometres out of Kokstad."

  • "Living on a Dam"

    30 December 2013

"We lived in the carp lodge which has an exciting location and interior. We really enjoyed the private location of the houses there. Staff was also nice. The pool did not work during our stay ...it seems to be a maintenance problem."

  • "Our overnight stay at Stonybrook Guest Lodge"

    20 July 2013

"We had a lovely overnight stay at Stonybrook. Our rustic cabin overlooked the dam, it was homely and warm. We had dinner and breakfast in the dining room, both meals were good.Thank you to Petro who was our hostess. We will definitely stay over again when passing through Kokstad."
