Thali Thali is a 1,460 hectare Cape West Coast game and fynbos reserve situated just off the R27 near Langebaan, just over an hour's drive from Cape Town, bordering the West Coast National Park. The Cape West Coast is intoxicating and the Langebaan area with its beautiful lagoon has a charm that keeps people coming back year after year.
We are proud of our 3-star grading and we can welcome up to 29 guests to our family. Our restaurant is open daily and we serve generous, beautifully displayed food. A visit to Thali Thali offers the ideal laid-back West Coast style break-away complete with game drives, archery lessons and sundowners on the deck for the not so adventurous.
We boast a wide range of game like kudu, oryx, giraffe, red hartebeest, eland, zebra, sable, springbok, black wildebeest, duiker, bontebok, steenbok, ostrich, dromedary camel and emu. The reserve is also home to many different bird species and guests are welcome to enjoy a walk in the fynbos to view these creatures.
The accommodation at Thali Thali consists of 8 units that were designed to create a unit with the entertainment area with bar facilities and an open-air lapa. The 8 units are made up of 3 West Coast Style self catering chalets and 5 glamping tents.
The big old farmhouse with 4 bedrooms is the latest addition to the line-up and is separate from all the others and ideal for families and groups. It has a massive fireplace in the kitchen and a wrap-around porch that lends itself to lazy afternoons in the sun.
"A commercial "canned" game lodge. Archery fun for the kids."
"We loved the homely feeling, the people where welcoming and the chalet was cosy and quiet."
"petting the bokkies on different days, they walked towards our tent chalet 7, the male bokkies fought directly opportunities us, being completely away in nature, enjoyed the privacy, the game was exceptional, the staff are friendly & extremely welcoming. The breakfast & supper was superb, overall a five star experience. Would return."
"One cannot use the indoor braai. When you make a fire it smokes the entire place and therefore our son had to sleep with us on the bed with all Windows ."
"We loved our stay at Thali Thali. One of the best value-for-money stays we have experienced. The accommodation was excellent, private, and very comfortable; and the restaurant food was exceptional. We loved animals and, even though we never went on the game drive, we enjoyed the long trail walks on offer and saw most of the wildlife. Our only complaint was that the tent could have been a little more clean. The extra blanket was very dirty and there were numerous dead spiders on our arrival. But, I guess this is the reality of being in the bush. We would recommend to anyone."
"MorningThank you for assisting us in booking with Thali Thali.Overall we enjoyed our stay, very friendly personnel, great food at restaurant, loved the game drive. Play area very nice for the kiddies, however and we discussed this with the owner, Amelia and she is aware of this:The matrass on the sleeper coach was very wet on the one side but that they replaced on Saturday morning but although it was wet they made the bed while the personnel knew it was wet. The braai area in the kitchen must be banned, TOTALLY. Because the smell of fire smoke was overwhelming and the whole chalet smelled like wood burning. It was in everything, my bedding, my cloths, my pillows, everything. Because there is no doors on the fire pit to close it we closed it with carton boxes that we taped the whole closed. Management wanted to move us but unfortunately there was no available chalets or tents. Also perhaps they can put a fence around the pool area for the little ones. But overall we were mostly not at the chalet due to the smell so we were driving most of the time. At night it was really bad. But overall we received each day clean and fresh towels. Our chalet was serviced and tidy. RegardsElsanne Vertue"
"Thali Thali has excellent staff, the facilities and tents are absolutely brilliant and the food is not just excellent, but it is huge portions which you have to really put effort into finishing. A great experience all around!"

"We stayed in the Luxury Tent and had an absolute fun time. The tent had all the necessities and made us feel quite comfortable. Breakfast was included - Please do try the Safari Breakfast if you're there. Thali Thali is a gem with professional and friendly staff that make you feel at home."
"We had a awesome stay! So peacefull, we just relax and unwind. The host and all the staff was very friendly and helpfull The house was clean. The restaurant is beautifull and the food lovely and the pricess are very reasonable.A must go for nature lovers, lot of space to walk and take pictures"
"Great service, food, scenery and accomodation!!!"
"Overall, we enjoyed our stay at the game lodge. Our first evening was noisy as there was a concert which we were not aware of or advised prior. One other challenge was the cold water we experienced on two consecutive mornings, but the management resolved promptly on both mornings. Their lovely Safari breakfast is great on presentation and taste!"
"It was a weekend that brought us back to earth open veld en sky rustige omgewing en skoon natuur lug n tent wat jou gemak dra maar ook jou gedagtes hou in die natuur ons sal verseker we terug gaan."
"Mr Hugo Thali Unfortunately we did not enjoy our stay at your Game Farm, Upon our arrival on New Years Day, You yourself had not been very friendly, and brushed us off to one of your staff, We requested for the fireplace inside the chalet to be cleaned out the next morning, and this was not done at all, the shower drain was blocked, Hannes came to check and said something about water pressure and went off, never to be seen again, this was the worst 3 nights and 2 days of our holiday. so please excuse the fact that I will not be albe to recommend your facility to any body. Best Regards Martie Greeff"
"We had a 3 night stay at Thali-Thali Game Lodge. I found that the chalets were well-equipped with everything that was needed, everything worked fine! However, I do feel that the chalet could have been a bit cleaner. There were spider webs in the corners of all the rooms, spider webs in some of the cupboards and the kitchen cupboards needs a good clean on top. Secondly, I didn't feel that the staff welcomed us properly. Not once did anyone say 'Welcome to Thali Thali, Enjoy our stay' with a smile? The staff treated us like we were invisible. I went out of my way to at least greet someone, but the response was very minimal. No one really greeted us when they saw us. I didn't find this pleasant at all. One had the feel that we weren't welcome? On booking out, once again dropping off the key. We weren't asked "How was your stay", "Did you enjoy your stay" nothing? The gentleman just took the keys and I walked out. Lack of communication. I walk away from Thali-Thali feeling disappointed. Beautiful place, Beautiful animals, but the staff lacks that extra personal touch that makes one feel welcome with a warm smile or friendly hello!"
"The Lodge was very easy to find and very enjoyable. The only concern was the hot water and only on enquiring the next morning of our one night stay, were we made aware of how to manage the hot vs. cold. Perhaps there should be more information in the tents to inform guests of correct usage? Also, the tents need to be numbered to avoid confusion. But all in all a pleasant stay. Thank you!"
"The cottage was very comfortable and the interior 'interesting' - something different, but in a 'good' way. The coffee, tea and rusks are a 'nice touch'. Some of the bed lamps could not be plugged in. In general all the staff is very friendly."
"I will not use them again, had some minor issues this weekend. We arrived the Friday evening at around 7pm only to discover the bathroom ceiling/roof had leaked & both rolls of toilet paper were sopping wet. The outside light for the braai area was not working. Even though they eventually made a plan, the fact that I am paying R450 a night per person, do people not check things are working beforehand? On the 2nd morning of our 3 night stay the gas ran out, for the shower & my girlfriend was left standing in the cold for about 15min. Do they not check to make sure that it will be ok for 3 nights? Lastly, the lock to the front door of the cabin could not be opened from the inside, due to the key being broken. I had to climb through the window every morning to unlock the door from the outside. Although the gentleman assured me they would fix it after the 1st night, they however did not! I find it unacceptable to pay this kind of money for the above mentioned problems. When one plans a romantic weekend away, you do not want to experience issues like this. Besides all the minor issues, the place is nice but there really is no point staying on a game farm when you cannot do a self drive without having to pay extra R100 per person. I would rather choose alternative accommodation the next time I plan a trip to this area, it was our first trip to the west coast."
"Pleasant place with reasonable game. The indoor braai did not draw and it smoked the chalet out. The hot water arrangement was very dodgy; there was nothing in kitchen and either cold or scalding in shower. The braai tongs were broken, the plugs had to be swapped around for appliances, and the vehicle is parked some distance from chalet so we had to carry kit. Service minimal."
"Our family had a stunning time. If I could just recommend something it would be that they try to sort out the geyser as we struggled to shower and kids did not shower as the water is either very hot and as soon as cold water is turned on then the water goes ice cold, not so nice for winter. But other than this we were absolutely happy!"
"Very pleasant and awesome 4 day stay, nice layout and definitely to be visited by all Capetonians wanting a "game reserve" feel. Only negative was the shower problems we experienced with very little sense of urgency to fix. Awesome game drive with Marlon who was always helpful with his knowledge and experience of the animals. Will definitley be back."
"We had a wonderful time and will recommend it to other friends."
"We absolutely loved the accommodation, the personal touch and the willingness to help - my car got stuck in the sand, hahaha! The food was great, all-in-all, great value-for-money! We'll be back."
