Lindley was laid out in 1875 on the farm Brandhoek and proclaimed a town in 1878. Lindley is named after a missionary, Daniel Lindley, who was an American Presbyterian minister of the Voortrekkers.
Bikirus Self-catering was started in 2008 after the owners realized the need for self-catering accommodation in Lindley. Stay with us for an unforgettable, friendly, relaxed, hospitable and peaceful experience. Our establishment offers the traveller a midway overnight stay, the businessman peace of mind and the contract worker homely accommodation. We aim to please all our guests with our neat and clean accommodation.
There are a variety of activities to do in the area such as birdwatching with over 200 species of birds to be seen in the area. There are lovely picnic sites, hiking trails and horse riding within the area. There are history tours with our local historian who will take you through the history of Lindley and tours to Yeomanry Hill battlefield and the cemetery. Come visit our working mill which was established in 1959 and run by a father and son.
