  "The cabin was beautifully decorated, the bed and bedding was good quality. The kitchen had all the small details, tools and amenities that made your stay very comfortable. Unfortunately the jacuzzi was not heated for us and could not get it working till the following night. The shower head is very poor, caused a lot of frustration and the hot cold water was a bit better once you opened the warm water in the bathroom sink. Overall I loved the privacy and would love this cabin in summer IF the shower is fixed."

  "Now this was the Best weekend ever! That is how my wife posted it on Facebook. We were worried that the road might be a bit bad for a small car, but the little Fiat had no problem on the road at all. You wont believe the view. Large deck with comfortable chairs. You wont believe the privacy, silence peace and quiet. It felt like we were the only two people on the planet. Bird watching paradise and in the evenings as the sun sets you can hear the Jackals whilst enjoying a Sundowner in the Jacuzzi. The cabin has everything you can need and more. The bed is very comfortable and the bathroom roomy. The breakfast we booked as an extra is a must. The freshest tastiest breads you can imagine. Also thanks for the wine on our anniversary. We will promote Impressions Retreat on any platform possible. Uys and Christine."

  "Beautiful cabin and great location..apart from the last bit of very rocky dirt road to get there! Cabin was lovely, clean and comfortable beds, just very hot in the day (November) and the fan is a bit pathetic - an aircon would make all the difference as well as solve the bug problem. The gas shower is a joke unless you like cold showers or having your skin fried! But we enjoyed an awesome thunderstorm from the deck and the jacuzzi was great, but should be cleaned every day - on our second day it had become greasy and unpleasant. We would definitely go back if these few issues were dealt with."

  "We really enjoyed our stay at Impressions Retreat! Even though the road on the farm is very rough on a small car, it was worth the effort when we got to our cabin! It felt like we were the only people there. The cabin is very neat, clean, and beautifully furnished. Cedric was the perfect host, allowing a very late book-in, and Elia ensured we always had fresh firewood. One thing missing in the kitchenette was a microwave, but for the rest we had everything we needed to cater for ourselves."

  "Lovely, private and cozy cabin, peaceful surroundings, including the swimming pool, braai areas and the Hex river hiking trail under a leave roof. Two nights are definitely not enough - the true tranquility and silence of the bush veld atmosphere were overwhelming. Although it was very hot, we were blessed with an afternoon rain shower which contributed to an even more beautiful view and sunset! We appreciate the hospitality and friendliness of the hosts, Frans and Runel!"

  "We had a wonderful time at Impressions Retreat! When we arrived we were greeted with chocolates on the bed and a complementary bottle of wine in the fridge, congratulating us on our wedding anniversary. We pre-ordered a breakfast basket for Saturday morning and what a treat it was! Everything was neatly packed into a beautiful basket.There is a wide variety of birds that we enjoyed watching every morning. There are a few books at the cottage on birds, reptiles, trees, etc. that came in quite handy in identifying everything we saw.Before we left on Sunday we went on one of the (three) hiking trails. It was lovely! We found leopard spoor in the mud amongst a few others. We would strongly recommend staying for three nights as opposed to two. We will miss the amazing fire pit, the warmth of the cottage during the roaring thunderstorm and the spectacular view of the great mountains. Thank you very much for all the small little things you've thought of to make our stay so special. We will definitely see you again soon!"

  "Very good! So quiet and isolated. The perfect place to unwind and lovely walking trails. All facilities required like pool and braai place. Our only 'problem' was the shower that couldnt stay at a constant temperature. It was either too hot to stand under or freezing and when the cabin is already chilly at night, all you want is a warm shower. The food provided was delicious and portions were huge. All in all, we were looked after very well and loved the weekend as a whole!"
