  "the facility was entirely adequate for our requirements. We were surprised by how clean Matatiele was compared with towns on the N2 route, and the R61 was in good condition apart from 12 stop and go after Maclear, longest wait was 9 minutes."

• "Renovations"

  "You can imagine our surprise when we arrived to find the B7B a building site. Rubble & removed sanitary ware around the car park. It took a while to raise the owner when we rang the bell & she seemed surprised to see us & immediately apologised for the sate of the place as they were doing renovations. She said the website does state this but of course I booked via SafariNow. We were shown to one of the rooms, which I assume form its state has not yet been renovated. There was a film of dust over the place, the bathroom little shelf was coming off the wall & you could not stand anything on it. The shower was moldy & tiles were coming off the bathroom wall. Also the bathroom door could not be shut. The chairs outside the room were no usable & the light styaed on outsdie all night & despite the drapes it was too light inside. Having said all that the bed was comfy enogh & we had a good night's sleep & breakfast was prompt & adequate. Howvere the hot urn was not working & there was no table laid when we went into the breakfast room. I go the distinct impression that they were not really open for business but our booking had somehow slipped through so we were allowed to stay. I think the booking should have been declined & we should have been advised to try elsewhere."

  "Most disappointing. There was only one bath towel for my husband and I, only one coffee mug, the pillows were flat and hard. The breakfast was untastefully presented - a ready served up bowl of yogurt, only 2 cereals, just a plate of oranges for fruit, the coffee in the dining room was finished, no tea. There was no jam or marmalade for our toast.This was MOST DISAPPOINTING AND NOT VALUE FOR MONEY. We will never go back there. This is most certainly not up to the usual standard of B&B's in our country."

  "I think people need to know about this place. They are very accomodating. The food is excellent. I had two punctures and the lady called a garage which then sent a man to fetch me and the two tyres and brought me back. I can't think of a better place to spend a night."

  "We quite enjoyed our stay at Sara-Lee. The owner was very welcoming and hospitable. The lodge is clean and well kept. The meals are excellent. Owner goes the extra mile to help when a person has trouble - we have 2 tyre punctures. She helped us get that sorted. We would definitely stay here again."
