  • "Great accommodation, disappointing restaurant"

    18 April 2017

"This was the second time that we stayed at Lord's Guest Lodge, and we had just a comfortable stay as we did during our first visit in 2010. We spent three nights over the Easter weekend, and the staff were very accommodating and friendly. It only gets a 4 star rating since the place needs a revamp, and the restaurant was a big disappointment compared to 2010.Firstly, the wine list only includes the Lord's own wines, which are really not that good. Secondly, the food is really average, the pork belly I had was way overcooked and dry, and ditto for my wife's lamb trio. On the second night, we tried a pizza and a pasta dish, which were better, but again, nothing special. We skipped dinner on our last night there.Although the accommodation was excellent, we will not be visiting again due to the average restaurant."

  • "Fantastic time"

    22 April 2013

"We had a fantastic time at Lords! What a stunning place – the views are endless. Often places advertised on the internet don’t live up to the hype when you see them, but not at Lord’s, in fact I don’t think any photographs would do the place justice. The food was great, the cottage was great everything was great! The hosts (Colin and team) are fantastic, the place runs like clockwork. There was a party, but we were not ignored, in fact we ended up joining the festivities and had a brilliant evening with very hospitable people! Would I go back? Is the Pope Argentinian?"

  • "A long weekend in August"

    14 August 2007

"Lovely cottages to stay in (if a little drafty) but a good fire puts paid to that and makes the interior setting stunning - service at the B&B was fantastic but sadly the same couldn't be said of the restaurant. On a sunny day the views are breathtaking, overall a fantastic place to stay"
