Huisie by die See

Huisie by die See is a self-catering ground floor apartment located in the picturesque village of Melkbosstrand, just 80m from the beach and within walking distance of restaurants and shops.

The open-plan apartment can accommodate 2 guests and comprises a double bed, and an on-suite bathroom with a bath and shower. The kitchen is well equipped with a 2-plate stove, a mini oven, microwave, bar fridge, crockery and cutlery and coffee- and tea making facilities. The living area has 2 comfortable chairs to sit and read a book or just stare at the ocean. Access to DSTV. Free Wi-Fi is available. The living area opens onto a covered patio with braai facilities and sea view. A cleaning service is included once a week.

Melkbosstrand is a coastal suburb situated 35 km north of Cape Town, known for its stretch of white sandy beaches, seafood restaurants, nature hikes, dunes and mountain views. Visitors can enjoy long walks on pristine beaches, which are suitable for swimming. Huisie by die See is centrally located and within 30 minutes drive from Cape Town and various wine farms.

    "We loved this little flatlet. Very comfortable for two people with an ocean, white-washed theme throughout. The bed is super comfy, the bathroom is spacious and the kitchen had everything we needed. We just missed some coffee in the morning :-( Although we did not use the fireplace outside on the 'stoep' it would have been perfect for an evening 'braai' around a white-washed table, with the sound off the waves in the distance. We really enjoyed our stay and many thanks to Johan for allowing us to stay for 1 night only even though it was a long weekend!"

    "We did NOT enjoy the stay. There was only an electric frying pan - no 2 plate stove etc. It is impossible to sit on the toilet since there is no space. Only one braai right infront of the other bedroom's window. You can not open the curtains - the sun shines directly into the room. They asked (it is printed also in room) to leave the wet towels on the floor. No one ever came to clean in the 3 weeks. No brooms etc. to clean with. The website pictures are misleading. We will not use this facility again. This facilty is in sharp contrast with your others that we have used before."

    "We looked for a self catering place to accommodate 2 grownups and 2 children under 3. What we got was a small single room with a tiny bathroom with only a shower and no separate kitchen. When you go out the door, you walk into a narrow alleyway. There was no grasspatch or lawn for our baby to crawl on. The braai was also in the alleyway right in front of our neighbour's room. When we compared prices in Melkbosstrand while we were there, we realised that we could have got MUCH better at the same rate."
