  • "The drive through Nylsvley."

"Some sort of sheltered braai (eg. built on the stoep) would be great, so that one could also braai if it rains. Some of the beds are not exactly comfortable. No refuse bin was available in the chalet."

"The trip was OK but the gravel load from the main road is about 6km which is a bit far.. All was good except the room was not clean... We spent 2 nights and they didn't clean the room after the first night... Not even replace dirty cups and glasses.. TV plays just 3 channels & not so entertaining for kids."

  • "Marietjie Stapelberg - Travel from Pretoria"

    21 August 2014

"The unit was comfortable except for the following:You unable to relax with the TV in the kitchen without DSTV channels. The dirt road to the lodge is in bad condition and the lodge is not suitable for a one night stay. You do not need a self catering unit for only a one night stay without tea and coffee when you arrive late in the dark on the bad road. There was other option for rooms only, but were unable to provide breakfast or dinner and will rather stay nearer in Nylstroom for the same rate and dont drive 30km out to the Dinonyane Lodge."

  • "Happily go back "

    30 March 2008

"My wife and I only stayed for one night on our way to the northern Kruger, so it is difficult to form a true impression of the establishment. However, the grounds were beautiful and we would happily go back for longer to explore the birding on the nearby bird reserve."

  • "Ideal"

    22 January 2007

"Dinyonyani Lodge should be called Tranquility an ideal place to getaway from the hustle and bustle of city life. We had a wonderful time staying in room 3 The Bulbul Room. There were plenty of birds in the well-kept garden and they offered great meals (breakfast and dinner) with the desserts at dinnertime my personal favourite."

    10 October 2005

"We both thoroughly enjoyed our three night stay at Dinonyane Lodge. We found Hentie and his staff to be most helpful at all times. The situation of the Lodge was ideal for a restful break among the beautiful gardens which attracted many beautiful birds."

  • "A nice stop..."

    28 August 2005

"Well, the location is a few meters from the Nylsvlei Nature Reserve (completely dry for the winter 2005 season when we were there - August 2005-, hence nearly no birds to see!). The rooms were a bit small, nothing special to add, but at 495 rands for 2 in B&B PLUS dinner, that's a bargain, and not many places in the area that can compete. In short, not an unforgettable experience, but a nice place, and very good value for money."

  • "Review 'Dinonyane Lodge'"

    06 August 2005

"The lodge is a perfect place for bird watchers (which we are not), situated near the Nylsvley Nature Reserve, quite far away from any village or city. It served the purpose we needed it for (just a stay over for 1 night), but was not exactly what we had in mind. The room, food and service were perfect though."
