  "After reviewing the site on "where to stay" we had great expectations on this wonderful accomodation that we had booked, however, upon arriving at macadamia lodge our expectations were shattered to find that the so called lodge is actually a back room cottage in a private house. Yes, we received a warm reception from Lucy, however, we feel that the site is misrepresenting the facts of what the place is really about ie...the glamarous pictures shown on the site are the actually main residence and not the actual lodge (backrooms), of which were very low standard and in urgent need of a face lift.We regularly travel around south africa and find that a TV is a standard, therefore it should be mentioned on the site that there is no TV as this is a requirement especially when travelling with children.On the second day of our arrival there was no power from late afternoon until the next morning.Basically we feel that what you see is what you get and in this instance that was not the case as this deprives us the option of looking for better accomodation that we have become acustom to."

  "So very thankful we booked at macadamia during the wild year-end season in St Lucia. Quiet spaciousness of a golf course, with magnificent mature mango, litchi and macadamia trees. Generous welcome by hosts, yoga offering is superb. Accommodation with excellent beds, well furnished kitchen and charming French windows to the spacious flagstone terrace with braai. Super choice for anyone wanting quiet and charm, with well traveled hosts. Definitely would return to Macadamia Lodge!"

  "It was like staying with old friends that respects your privacy and space and that understands that you are on holiday. They were very informative of what was happening in town and what the attractions were. The rooms were always very clean and are very spacious. The view of nature and the golf course allows you to wake up in your own little world. We will easily stay there again."

  "I strongly recommend Macadamia Lodge - it is very welcoming and the hosts were friendly. We particularly appreciated their Christmas welcome. They offered lots of useful local information. The accommodation was comfortable and the kids loved the pool. It is in a good location, fairly close to St Lucia but much more peaceful. Thank you Lucy and family for making us feel so welcome!"

  "Macadamia Lodge is an undiscovered gem nestled in Monzi, a private estate situated just outside the seaside village of St Lucia. It is the perfect countryside holiday and you are able to combine it with beach excursions, approximately a 15-minute drive away. The famous St Lucia Wetlands and the nearby Hluhluwe-Umfolozi game reserves are an added bonus. Lucy and her parents are the perfect hosts and offer two delightful self-catering cottages with the option of breakfast at the poolside. The bigger cottage is ideal for a family, and both cottages have fantastic views with braai areas leading onto a huge lawn, ideal for children to run around and play. I would highly recommend if you wish to get away from the hustle and bustle of city life, yet still want to be close enough to travel short distances to enjoy some of the fantastic activities offered in this area. Thanks for a truly lovely stay."
