Witklip Guest Farm

Witklip Guest Farm lies in the beautiful Swartland region, just one hours drive from Cape Town. Surrounded by golden grain and canola fields, it is the ideal getaway to the tranquil countryside.

The century-old farm house has been lovingly restored and has stunning views of the surrounding mountains. Care has been taken to keep the house as original as possible, creating an authentic farm experience.

"Die Withuis" is situated on a working farm and has a spacious living area, cosy fireplace, fully-equipped kitchen with gas stove, fridge, outside braai, and bathroom with shower. While plugs are available for modern appliances such as hair dryers and cell phone chargers, most of the lighting is provided by paraffin lamps and candles. The house has its own organic vegetable garden, and as guests, you are invited to pick vegetables for use during your stay.

Witklip Guest Farm is centrally located for day trips to Koringberg, Misverstand Dam, Piketberg, Riebeek Valley and Darling. Wine tasting, water skiing, paragliding and hiking are some of the activities offered in the region, or just come and relax, walk, or read a book on the stoep.

"My boyfriend & I got away from Cape Town for a long weekend at Witklip. It is a beautiful place, lovely setting and has just about everything a person could need (except an oven -- not necessary, but we'd planned our meals in advance and got extra creative upon arrival). We enjoyed fires in the fireplace outside and inside. The big dog, Jasper, was a delight to have around. I think we'll go ahead and book another weekend there in August with some friends as there is more than enough room for at least two couples."

"We stayed for a long weekend but the tranquil surroundings left us rested - as if we had taken a month off. Early morning is the best time with crisp, fresh air, views that continue for miles, absolute silence except for the odd bleat of a lamb and the company of the trusty (and very friendly) guard dog. Despite the location appearing isolated, the town is a short drive away, as is the wonderful recreation and picnic area at the nearby dam. Just remember, where there are farm animals, there are flies. So bring the bug spray if you don't want to keep waving your arms around. The accommodation was spacious, clean, comfortable and well-equipped. If it is serious R&R you seek, this is the place."

"We had a wonderful stay at Witklip Guest Farm. The house was beautiful and had everything we needed, even our own guard dog. The dog was lovely and we were sad to leave him behind. It was a perfect place to explore the Swartland and we will definitely return."
