In 1887, just before the Anglo Boer War, eight Victorian cottages were built for the British officers on the road to the camp on Rondebosch Common. Camp Ground Guest House was the site of one of them, and Generals Kitchener and Buller are reputed have dined on this location on numerous occasions.

Accommodation is offered in two self-catering units, namely The Patio Suite and The Garden Suite. The Patio Suite is a large double room with an en-suite bathroom, self-catering kitchenette and separate entrance. The Garden Suite features a lounge and double room, with a self-catering kitchenette and a separate entrance leading out to the pool and patio. Both rooms feature comfortable beds and pillows, fluffy towels, heaters and fans, a well-stocked minibar and DStv.

There is also a patio with Weber braai facilities and a swimming pool area, and a laundry service is available. A shuttle service can be provided on request and the guest house can also assist with car rental and guided tours by arrangement.
