Simones Cottage is a cosy cottage perfect for a couple looking for a romantic getaway. The unit features one bedroom with a queen-size bed and a private bathroom consisting of a separate shower and bath. The kitchen is equipped with a microwave, stove and oven, cutlery and crockery, as well as tea and coffee facilities, while the lounge is comfortably furnished with a fireplace that creates a warm atmosphere on those cold and sometimes snowy, winter nights. The cottage has a big garden and is situated next to the Gats Riverbank and is within walking distance of town.Although the town only has a couple of streets, a few guest houses and restaurants, a pub and a couple of quaint art galleries, the rustic charm of the town attracts tourists from all over. The Owl House and Camel Yard are worth a visit and consist of a Karoo-style cottage that has been transformed by its former owner, Helen Martins, into a glass-encrusted wonderland and statue-filled garden. For those looking for more sights and attractions, Graaff-Reinet is only a short drive away and offers a golf course, the Valley of Desolation as well as the Camdeboo National Park.
"We really enjoyed staying at Simone's cottage. It had all we needed and we loved the location. Beautiful kilim carpet in the main room !!"
"We had a delightful stay at Simone's Cottage. The photo's do not do credit to this beautifully appointed, peaceful and comfortable cottage. The indoor fireplace heats up the entire place. We definitely recommend a stay here."
"We loved the sunny stoep with a view, lovely linen on the bed, beautiful touches in the cottage ie vase of flowers, a warm throw on the couch, the fireplace; everything was just perfect!"
"Enjoyed everything about the cottage just as it is!"
"Simone's Cottage is the perfect size for a weekend stop over in Nieu-Bethesda. It has all the necessary kitchen appliances (toaster, microwave, kettle, etc) for self catering, as well as spacious bathroom with a bath and shower. The weather was rather chilly for an April, but the cottage was far warmer than we expected, which made for a cosy stay!"
"We enjoyed our stay for two nights. The cottage is well equiped and private, yet withing walking distance of 'mid town'.<br/><br/>We definately book it again as a stay over."
"We loved every moment of the short one night stay at Simones. The place is equipped with fireplace for the cold nights, electric blankets, and both shower and bath. The decor is thoughtful and rustic. Very reasonable for what you get - Thanks for the memories, and we will be back"
"WHAT A MAGIC PLACE TO REFLECT AND TO ENJOY A PEACEFULL NIEU BETHESDA. A LOT OF DETAIL AND THOUGHT HAS GONE INTO SIMONE'S COTTAGE AND A WONDERFULL LITTLE TREASURE COVE TO STAY IN WHEN VISITING THE QUAINT TOWN. HIGHLY RECOMMENDED."
"Comfortable with everything one needs. We wanted the Karoo ambience and got it. Thank you."
"Quiet cleanpleasant rustic stay! Really enjoyed star gazing as well!"
"A really great country cottage with perfect touches throughout - not lush but in perfect balance with the surrounds."
"We enjoyed our overnight stay in this rustic but comfortable cottage. We did not miss the TV as we were able to watch the all important Stormers game at the local pub.Fortunately we brought or own coffee as none is provided."
"<p>We spent one night in Nieu-Bethesda and stayed at Simone's Cottage. Delightful rustic look with above average amenities. Quiet and private. Excellent value for money. Only suggestion: Make some coffee and sugar sachets available - few guests would bring that along and the coffee shops/restaurants only open later in the morning!</p><p>Jan (Durban)</p>"
"A quaint cottage with lovely views. Within easy walking distance of most tourist attractions. We enjoyed our stay and were very happy that our Siamese and Yorkie were also welcome."
"The photo does not do justice to the most beautiful place we have ever stayed in. The setting is unbelievable with a view over the fields with the church in the background and the cottage is rustic, beautifully decorated and just too gorgeous for words. I wish we had had the time to stay longer, but we had a tight schedule. It's worth staying for at least three days or longer. I could have lived there for ever and yearn to return!"
"We loved the new & old decor and the comfort of the cottage. It was very clean and the electric blanket and fireplace were winners. No creepy crawlies and unfortunately no toilet roll. Excellent value for money, we would definitely stay there again."
"Perfect - no complaints.Feel if you stay on a farm.Perfect for 2 people."
"If you are of the down-to-earth, live life, love life, expect nothing, know what is 'enough', imbibe in boutique beer, enjoy giving, revel in Karoo ambience - then this is the place for you. As much as I am afeared of telling everyone for fear of 'touristing' this jewel, I must be honest and give and hope all who dwell here and at Simone's Cottage do too. With all my love and embrace, Ros."
