Oribi Gorge Guest Farm

Oribi Gorge Guest Farm is situated on the Oribi Gorge, within wasy reach of Shelly Beach, Uvongo, Margate, and some of South Africas favourite seaside resort areas. The breathtaking Oribi Gorge, just 25 minutes inland from Port Shepstone, has been described as an African Grand Canyon. Although it is not as deep or long, the comparison is indisputable as you view the Mzimkulwana River winding its way through lush pristine wilderness between the precipitous rocky gorge walls.

The Oribi Gorge Guest Farm offers accommodation in three guest houses, namely the Shuttleworth House, Nerrily Cottage, and Lindile Lodge. All are fully self-catering, with no shortage of modern appliances. They share equally in comfort and homeliness, but differ widely and beautifully from each other in their decor and theme.

Oribi Gorge Guest Farm offers visitors two holidays in one. With the beaches in easy reach guests can vary their seaside recreational activities with games of squash, tennis or bass fishing, 4x4 game viewing, horse riding or even white water rafting and rock climbing nearby.

Once you've checked in at Oribi Gorge Guest Farm you'll be able to make daytrips to Port Shepstone, Shelly Beach and the rest of the coastal beach communities. The nice thing is that no matter where you go you'll never be very far from your home on the farm.

Game viewing at Lake Eland Game Reserve is part of the Oribi experience, and you only have to go a few kilometres from the farm to enjoy it. See blesbuck, red hartebeest, kudu, impala, blue wildebeest and zebra. Keep your eyes peeled for reedbuck, bushbuck, blue and grey duiker, oribi, cerval cat, giraffe and lynx too. Other nearby activities include hikes in the Oribi Gorge Nature Reserve.

  • "The views ... Endless and breathtaking!"

    24 December 2017

"I love the farm and the friendliness of Ian the father-in-law. He was great so informative and entisiastic. The gorge is simply stunning and there is so many adventures to be had. As a 50 something I did my first extreme swing/jump a 160m fall down into the gorge. Stole my breath and almost put me in cardiac arrest ... not literally! I will definitely be back."
