CANA Vineyard Guesthouse

Welcome to CANA Vineyard Guesthouse.
Cana Vineyard Guesthouse a mountain-facing manor house with 10 luxurious rooms, provides the ultimate South African winelands experience. Situated on a working wine farm, the guest house is neatly hidden in the middle Shiraz vineyards. You can be woken up by wild guinea fowls or a tractor working the vineyards.

Weather permitting, breakfast is served on the terrace overlooking the Drakenstein mountains. With African hardwood decor and majestic views, it creates a tapestry of imaginative tales of the past, intertwined with an understanding of the 360 year heritage of the area, aptly named the Pearl.

As our guest on the farm, you are welcome to the spoils in the fruit orchards, go for walks in the vineyards, have a picnic next to the dam or feed the wild ducks.

The estate is only minutes away from the historical town of Paarl and is surrounded by a truly incredible choice of mountain hikes, cycle tracks, historical monuments, museums, golf estates, art studios and world-renowned wine estates which can be discussed with our guests and advice given to perfect their holiday.

"It was more than what we expected."

  • "Bit disappointed, expected more"

"Read incredible reviews about the guesthouse and I was really looking forward to our stay based on these. I booked a budget traveller option, but it stated when I booked and in my confirmation email, that breakfast was included. When we checked in we were told this was not the case, and we'd have to pay extra for breakfast. I insisted that it had indicated breakfast was included, and later checked the mail to confirm, but was told firmly that I was wrong. In addition, I understand that a budget room will not be as comfortable as the standard rooms, but the bedside light didn't work, one of the downlights in an already dark room was blown (don't try to put on makeup in this room!) there were large cracks in the ceiling, the toilet and shower are in the bedroom, and the shower was blocked. The price was really good for accommodation in the area, and the property seemed nice, although I can't comment on the food, because we decided to go elsewhere for breakfast. All-in-all it was not what I was expecting based on the reviews I'd read beforehand. If you're planning to stay there, and can afford it, don't stay in the budget room!"

"<div>Our large, spacious en suite room was a pleasant surprise - as were the gorgoues view, ouma rusks, filter coffee and every other thoughful little touch.</div><div><br /></div><div>As one of THOSE people who travel with their own pillows as hotel beds are inevitably never as comfortable as home. We were pleasantly surpised that this was not the case as Nwanedi :)</div><div><br /></div><div>Our only disappointment was not having more time to explore the farm - and taste the wine!</div><div><br /></div><div>I highly recommend the Nwanedi country manor to any Nantes wedding guests.</div><div><br /></div><div>Thank-you Jean for a wonderful stay!</div>"

  • "Marvelous place"

    02 January 2014

"The establishment deserves the rating it has and better. The rooms are spacious and the beds are overwhelmingly comfortable. The staff were wonderful and I value the lessons in wine and grapes I got from Gavin. I certainly will recommend the place to all my friends."

  • "Stunning"

    07 April 2011

"This is a lovely wine and country manor set in the valley close to Paarl, but in the peace and quiet of the countryside. The comfort was excellent - especially the pillows. Breakfast and service was also excellent. Wine tasting is a must. Highly recommend as place to chill out."

  • "Beautiful setting!"

    21 February 2011

"Great place for a break from city life. The accommodation was clean, the staff were friendly and the food was amazing. The hosts, Gavin and Jean, are some of the friendliest and most hospitable people I have ever met. Their personal attention ensured that my stay was a comfortable one and without the slightest worry. I will definitely stay here again and I highly recommend this establishment to anyone else."
