Koi Cottage

Koi Cottage is a lovely self-catering apartment, situated a short walk, across the the road, down to the beach in Port Nolloth. The apartment consists of one bedroom bedroom with a new queen-size bed, one bathroom with a bath and a glass shower, a fully equipped kitchen with a brand new glass four-plate gas hob and a comfortable lounge area with a big sleeper couch, LCD TV and full DStv. There is safe parking available behind the gate, as well as braai facilities.

Port Nolloth lies 144 km northwest of Springbok and 90 km west of Steinkopf. Port Nolloth started its life as a railway junction for the copper mining industry, and subsequently as the site for diamond mining, but today serves mainly as a fishing village for the crayfishing industry.

Nothing much happens very fast here, and as a result, holidaymakers are attracted to the town to soak up the 'no-worries' atmosphere and sun. McDougalls Bay is home to clean beaches and calm seas, if a little cold, that offer hours of swimming, walking, kayaking and boating time.

Koi Cottage is suitable only for folk looking for a bit of rest and relaxation and not for people looking to party. No children under nine years permitted.

    "We had car trouble on the way, and couldn't reach Port Nolloth on the date we reserved. Barbara phoned to enquire where we were and kindly assured us that the cottage would still be available the following night. The cottage is beautiful, with a colour scheme and little extra touches everywhere which create a lovely, warm atmosphere; home away from home, except at home we don't find chocolates on our pillows! Barbara was very helpful, patiently showing us how to operate the DVD player (we're both a bit technologically challenged) and when we enquired, she offered great advice on where to get the best seafood in town. There is also a board in the cottage with a little history and information about the town. Talk about going the extra mile, literally and figuratively. When we left, Barbara kindly helped to give the car a little push, too!"
