"Bad Experience"
23 June 2014"Umngazi is still beautiful but unfortunately we had bad experiences. The first started on check in. The previous occupants of our rooms decided to squat and instead of informing us of the situation and sorting it, we were left hanging. They gave us a room key and then suddenly the porters just left us stranded in the parking lot. My husband stayed with the car while I took some of our luggage and the two children to the room and then come face to face with the family still staying in our room. It seems that the staff were aware of the situation but hoped that we could flush out the squatters. I had to carry half the luggage, my baby and toddler back to reception while my husband had to guard the rest of the luggage at the car while I tried to find out what was going on. When I complained they had a laid back approach of isn't this too bad and made us wait some more without any information. Safaris booking confirmation stated that check in was at 13:00, which Umngazi had informed us was incorrect so we had already waited an hour prior to this fiasco.At checking out the receptionist informed us our drinks order of R489 was included which we thought was nice as a compensation for all the drama. The manager also checked our final bill before we paid. It seems they were just untrained or incompetent as we now have a "debt collector" on our trail for this outstanding amount (which I have just settled).The two stars of my rating are for the food and the location. It is so sad I remember Umngazi 25 years ago when we were regular visitors as we lived in Umtata. It is now overcrowded and very commercialised and you get less for R6400 than you used to get for under R500."

Hbsche Bungalows und aufmerksamer Service machen das Resort nicht nur fr Familien attraktiv. Fr unseren Parchengeschmack leider zu viele kleine laute Kinder."
