Peace of Africa

Peace of Africa is located at the foot of the Olifantsriver mountain range overlooking the town of Porterville as well as the countryside as far as Piketberg. Open spaces and fresh air meet you at the gate.

We offer lovely CAMPING sites set among the pine trees. A swimming pool is situated next to the camping area for very hot days and we also offer two lapas for relaxing in the shade.

Being situated just 2.5 km out of town means that the golf course, bowling club and tennis courts are all within a short distance and there are lovely walking trails, mountain biking and 4x4 routes surrounding the resort.

""Peace of Africa" is 'n heerlike stil en rustige plek om te rus en weg te kom van die woelige stadslawaai. Heerlike warmwater om in te stort en skottelgoed te wag was voorwaar 'n pluspunt! Pragtige groen gras en 'n lapa om kos voorteberei. Die vrieskassie tot ons beskikking het gehelp om ons vleis, biereen koeldrank koud te hou! Beveel die plek besils aan vir mense wat hulle batterye wil gaan laai!"

"The camp experience was an interesting one. The site is situated perfectly, displaying spectacular views which is good for the soul. The things that would have enhanced the experience are as follows: An increase is trees around the camp site for shade.A much softer ground for anchoring our tents would be great. I'm afraid the sun's heat and the toughness of the ground was merciless. The size of the freezer was not accommodating of everyone there. Because people put veggies in there it means it had to be adjusted to not freeze. May if you get a bigger refrigerator and keep the freezer for freezing. The electricity kept tripping (affecting the freezer obviously) and we didn't know where the main point was.Only two restrooms for a large group of people is not sufficient as some people wanted to use the toilet but could not due to other people taking a shower. Also these were not cleaned on a regular basis that is to change the sanitary bins during the 4 days we were there. This posed a huge hygiene risk for everyone. Lastly (I like to leave things on a positive note). Your place is positioned close to town which is great. Your pool area is nice and accommodated our little once, they had a great time. The fire pit is the best and nicely done.Thank you again."

"We were met by the friendly owners and showed to the camping area where we could select our spot on a level grassed area.A big lapa is available with wooden benches and tables. Firewood is for sale and a microwave and chest freezer is available to heat or cool food as required. (Also more power points)Ablutions are neat and functional with a wash-up area next to it. The view from the camp to town and way beyond is marvelous and the tranquility is really very special, with the town still close by to do any required shopping.Wessel from Windhoek2014 11 09"

"Stunning views, If camping take a long extension lead and don't leave food out, the dogs help themselves at night, otherwise very nice."
